BIOLOGY I

UNIT SEVEN: CLASSIFICATION: THE ORGANIZATION OF LIVING THINGS

Introduction

This unit involves the organization and classification of all organisms. With well over three million different species in the word, an orderly system had to be devised to organize these animals. Students will investigate Carolus Linnaeus’s system called binomial nomenclature. They will also examine the five-kingdom system and learn how to use this model to classify organisms.
