Page 1 – Title (in the center of the page)
Name, Partner(s), Date, Block (in the bottom right corner)
Page 2 – Introduction/Purpose – Explain what this lab is about. What are the
objectives? Purposes of doing this lab. In your own words. One paragraph.
Materials – A list of what were the basic materials you used. Not always the same as in the lab handout.
Method – In your own words, what you did. You may number the steps. Shouldn’t be too long.
Page 3 – Data – Put your organized data tables here. Be sure to label.
Page 4 – Data analysis – Place any graphs, or other interpretations of your data here.
Make sure you label all graphs. All statistical information goes here i.e. average standard deviation. You may refer the reader back to the data.
Page 5- Questions – There are usually questions in the lab that must be answered. They
go here. You must write out the question.
Page 6- Conclusion/Discussion – This is where you explain your results of the lab. This
section is very important. You might include: Why you got the results you got, Errors you made, What you should have gotten, What you learned, Was the objective met, Any other relevant information pertaining to your results (ex. further explanation).
Misc. Info.
Page 1,2,5,6 should always be typed.
Number all pages.
If a page runs too long, retain the same number and use letters. Ex. Page 3 goes 2 pages long. The first page would be Page 3a, the second page would be Page 3b.
