About Me
Hello, my name is Robert Ceglie. I am a teacher at Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood, Massachusetts. As you might notice, I am a biology teacher and I teach freshmen Biology 1, Forensics and AP Biology.

This is my sixth year of teaching at Xaverian. Since, I have been here I have done many things, including building a web page for my students to use. I coach Freshman baseball and drove a student van to school my first year. I help out with the basketball scoreboard, work with campus ministry and was a student council moderator. I very much enjoy Xaverian because it is similar to the type of school I attended.

I went to high school at Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree, MA. It was co-ed, but similar to Xaverian. After high school, I went to Providence College for a year and was a Pre-Med major, but I didn't like the school and left after one year. I transfered to UMass at Boston, where I got my B.S. in Biology and graduated with a 3.54 gpa. While at UMass, I worked in the lab of Dr. Stevenson who also has a web page (which I made). I graduated summa cum laude and recieved the Biology Book Award. I worked in a lab and investigated the fat content in the hawkmoth
Manduca sexta.

After UMass, I attended The University of Delaware for a year. I was enrolled in a Ph. D program in Molecular Biology. I taught a few labs and also worked on research. I really enjoyed the teaching but the lab work was not as exciting.  After I left, I enrolled back at Umass and I got my Masters degree in Education (3.91 gpa). I worked in a different lab this time around. I worked with Dr. Brian White. We worked on how students learn different biological concepts. We have a paper that will soon be published. I also had a paper published in 1998. In the future I how to publish more.

Currently, I am undecided about future education. I have taken about 14 classes after my Masters degree at schools including Harvard, Bridgewater State, Umass, Fitchburg State. Nonetheless, I am enrolled at Framingham State College and need 3 more classes to get my second masters degree. This one will be in curriculum and instructional techonolgy. So for the students who read this, keep working hard at school. Education opens so many doors for you.

I live in Braintree right now, but an looking for a new house. I have a 15 month old boy named after me. We call him Junior. You can see him in my pictures section. I have been married for over 3 years and have gone out with Nicole since I was 15 ( I am now 30).

Thanks for reading about me and Go Braves,
Rob  (8/22/03)
