What
Dr. Hom says about Grand Rounds Case #57 - Sore LUL |

Case History: This is a hypothetical case. A 35 year old woman presents from the emergency room with a sore
LUL.
Questions:
-
What imaging tests?
-
What is the minimum amount of testing to come to a diagnosis?
What
Dr. Hom says:
-
The
best imaging study is an MRI to differentiate between an orbital
cellulitis from a pre-septal cellulitis.
-
Vital
signs such as body temperature, extraocular muscle functions and
physical palpation would distinguish between an acute chalazion
or hordeolum from a pre septal cellulitis.
