Case History: A 14- year old boy presented from the Emergency Department c/o redness and mild pain of the right eye for three (3) days. Although there is no profound photophobia, he complains of mild light sensitivity, watery discharge. There is no itching or eye ache. Habitually, he is a soft contact lens wearer of 5 months and reports daily wear of a 2 - week replacement of a commonly available soft contact lens. He presents wearing only the left lens. The ED prescribed tobramycin oph ung QID.
Physical exam is OD sc HM at 2 feet and OS ccl 20/20. The anterior chambers are quiet and the lids show no follicluar or papilary changes. Please see photos below. None of the corneal staining constitutes an actual ulcer. The other eye is completely normal.
