This spot reserved for the picture of a Don Stricker crash. Don earned the crash of the year award for 2000 due to the volume of wrecked airplanes. Now someone needs to capture a picture of the aftermath of one of Don's flights. |
The wreck of the Load Star (again): From the picnic and clearly one of the most memorable flights of 2000. The glider pilot escaped unharmed. Jack Stites was not so lucky. |
The wreck of the Laser: From a Bealton fly-in, John Holbrook Jr. violated one of the laws of Physics trying to get too airplanes to occupy the same place at the same time. This 1/3 laser of John's was lucky, its in chunks. The Cub it flew through was in much smaller peices. Both are total losses. |
The wreck of the Monocoupe: Actually worse than it looks (if that's possible). Steve's Monocoupe jumped into the air too soon and the resulting stall produced this. Dumb thumbs! |
