MY 1968 SS396 EL CAMINO |

The El Camino in my opinion is one of the greatest musclecars to ever hit the market. It offers the comfort of a car and the versatility of a truck! This one is a 1968 model. It is a true SS396 with ALL numbers matching. I bought it with an original 89,000 miles on it. The original plans were to modify it, however once I got it home I realized it was just too original! It still had it's original water and fuel pumps! Behind the seat I found the original buildsheet and the 1968 Arizona license plate. The deal included the original assembly manuals, owner's manual, and sales brochure! These are extremely rare (1 of 5,190). The 1968 model was the only year that the SS was it's own seperate model as opposed to a trim package. This means that they had their own special run of vin numbers. |

The interior is a special order "antique saddle". It is in excellent shape and everything works including the factory AC. It has a fire extinguisher (I was about to pull it out when I found an old piece of sales literature showing it as an option!), deluxe seat belts, factory tinted glass, power steering, 12 bolt posi-traction and a TH-400. The El Camino was originally bought by a guy here in Tucson Arizona. He thought it'd be nice to pass it down to his son as a graduation present. The grandson on the other hand, wanted a slammed down Honda, so after driving it a few months he sold it to me! |
