person can avail much. I have heard this last part generally lumped into the verses covering the elders, but I believe that it covers a distinctly different situation. I am not saying that this person would act as our intercessor with God. Rather, this person would act as a spiritual laxative for us. Allowing us to bring forth the spiritual poison within us, to be rid of it, finally. In truth, this last step should be extremely effective, because, wherever two or more are gathered in the Lord's name, He will be there also. Do you see the power in this? We are told to confess our innermost faults and feelings to some other person, but we, at the same time are confessing to the one that is truly important. The Lord Jesus Christ! The other person really helps in our personal commitment to the Lord. It's harder to back away from a published commitment.
