Number One: All graffiti is done by gangs. Wrong. The majority of the time graf isn't done by gangs, it's either done by one person or completely peaceful crews.
Number Two: All graffiti pertains to some kind of "street war." Wrong. The majority of the time graf isn't part of any "street war." It's just pure personal expression, much like any other art form.
Number Three: All graffiti artists are rebels who just want to make the law-abiding citizens of the world mad. Wrong. The majority of the time graf isn't done to piss people off or make the taxpayers spend money trying to get rid of it. Blank wall = big enough canvas, that's all there is to it.
Number Four: All graffiti artists are hoodlums who shouldn't be trusted. Wrong. Not all graf artists are gun-toting drug users. Sure the graf world has its share of these people, but then again, so does Wall Street.
