Back Issue #24

Hi, everyone! I don't know how many of you are planning to attend Youth Bible School (in PA, CA or OH) but, like the testimony below goes, sometimes God's way of thinking isn't ours...
Higher Ways

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:9

This verse testifies what last year actually became a reality in my life. It was an exciting experience, and I am eager to share it with you! His ways are truly past finding out and it is so wonderful, so be serving such a great and mighty God, knowing that we can trust that His ways are much better and higher that what we could ever imagine!

Last fall, I was not able to attend Hope Youth Bible School, and it crushed me, because I was able to be apart of the previous two, and the doors were closed for me to go to the one that was coming up. I begged and pleaded with God to "please open the doors and give me a blessing!" A sister from Hope encouraged my sister and I that she would be praying that we would have a Bible School in our hearts, even though we couldn't be there for "the real thing." Deep in my heart I was thinking, "Yeah right! There is no way we can, not with our circumstances!" I so badly longed to have a Bible School in my heart, but I so desperately desired to be with like-minded young people; to seek the Lord in a spiritual minded place. I keep beseeching the Lord that He would allow us to go. With much prayer, I also tried to avoid bitterness as much as possible as I knew from experienced that a heart filled with hurt, easily turned to bitterness.

During the week, we were out of town, and I was still crying, praying, and seeking. "Why does God allow this," I kept thinking, "Doesn't He know my hurt?! It seems like everything is going against me! Where are you God?!" I knew that I desperately needed Him, and started praying just that with all that there was with in me. And God was so faithful to answer me, "exceedingly abundantly above all that I could ever ask or think" of Him! As I started excepting, embracing this, as God perfect will for me, heaven began to open over my life. My quiet times were so full of riches from Above that I could hardly contain myself. Questions that I had for months, were answered. Verses were grabbing me from the chapters that I was reading. And every time I felt a twinge of grief, pain, and disappointment, His loving arms held me and truly I can say, as the song says, "Heaven came down, and glory filled my soul!" Hallelujah!

I never was able to see my friends that came to CO, I never was able to hear reports of BS until much later, I never got to meet the people who wanted to meet me after corresponding, yet after this blessing from Above, I actually didn't care! I met with Jesus and He became closer and sweeter, and REAL to me during that week. Truly, God had heard this sister's prayers, and I had a "Bible School in my heart!" I learned that we don't have to live our lives from one Bible School to another, but to live in its blessedness continually!

Whether I'll be able to go this fall, I don't know. Perhaps you don't know if you'll be going either this fall, But we DO know that whether it is in a building, in our homes, or on the road, God is always faithful to meet our needs, God is always ready to be our All in all. Oh let us trust Him, and trust that His perfect will, WILL be done in our lives!

For His glory,
Cheri Cross

Banquet Table

Father, where are we going?
JUST PUT YOUR TRUST IN ME
Around me there's only darkness
I WILL BE A LIGHT UNTO THEE

But what if I lose my way?
I AM HOLDING TO YOUR HAND
Or what if I stumble and fall?
I WILL HELP YOU CHILD TO STAND

What will I eat on the way?
I WILL BE YOUR DAILY BREAD
Should I bring some water along?
JUST DRINK FROM ME INSTEAD

What if I get discouraged?
I WILL HELP YOU RUN THE RACE
Or feel like I'm left all alone..
KEEP YOUR EYES UPON MY FACE

Must I go by the enemy's camp?
I WILL BE THY SWORD AND SHIELD
What if I'm too weak to fight?
MY POWER SHALL BE REVEALED

But what if I have to suffer?
YOU WILL FIND THE JOY OF THE LORD
Do I have to give up everything?
IN ME IS THY GREAT REWARD

Can I trust You with my life?
WITH MY LOVE YOU WILL BE ABLE
Father, where are we going?

Prayer & Praise
Hi Jamie! I have a praise you can put in the next issue of R4A.

I just wanted to share what God's done for me the last few weeks. Our family has been planning a move across the country for a long time and were planning to move this fall. Last year I was born again at Charity Youth Bible School, and I've been waiting eagerly for this year's. It didn't look possible for me to go, and I was really crushed! But God just gave me a total peace about it, that I'm still amazed at it. Who would've thought I'd be at peace about not going? But I was! And you know, God made it possible, that now I'll be able to go (barring any new changes). Praise God!

Point2Ponder
A tale is told about a small town that had historically been "dry," but
then a local businessman decided to build a tavern.
A group of Christians from a local church were concerned and planned an all-night prayer meeting to ask God to intervene.
It just so happened that shortly thereafter lightning struck the bar
and it burned to the ground.
The owner of the bar sued the church, claiming that the prayers of
the congregation were responsible, but the church hired a lawyer to
argue in court that they were certainly not responsible.
The presiding judge, a man wiser than most, after his initial review
of the case, stated that "no matter how this case comes out, one thing
is obvious.
When asked what that was, the judge said "that it is evident that the
tavern owner believes in prayer and the Christians do not."

Selected Sayings
1. When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so when you die, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.
2. Like fire, truth can warm and sustain life...like fire, truth can destroy if misused!
3. The remedy for injuries is not to remember them.
4. Happiness grows at our own firesides, and is not to be picked in strangers' gardens.

*Government Pipe Specifications*
1. All pipe is to be made of a long hole, surrounded by metal or plastic
centered around the hole.
2. All pipe is to be hollow throughout the entire length - do not use holes
of different length than the pipe.
3. The I.D. (inside diameter) of all pipe must not exceed the O.D.
(outside diameter) - otherwise the hole will be on the outside.
4. All pipe is to be supplied with nothing in the hole so that water, steam
or other stuff can be put inside at a later date.
5. All pipe should be supplied without rust - this can be more readily
applied at the job site.
N.B. Some Vendors are now able to supply pre-rusted pipe. If available in
your area, this product is recommended as it will save a lot of time on the
job site.
6. All pipe over 500 ft (153m) in length should have the words "long pipe"
clearly painted on each end, so the Contractor will know it is a long pipe.
7. Pipe over 2 miles (3.2 km) in length must have the words "very long
pipe" painted in the middle, so the Contractor will not have to walk the
entire length of the pipe to determine whether or not it is a long pipe or a
very long pipe.
8. All pipe over 6" (152 mm) in diameter must have the words "large pipe"
painted on it, so the Contractor will not mistake it for small pipe.
9. Flanges must be used on all pipe. Flanges must have holes for bolts
quite separate from the big hole in the middle.
10. When ordering 90 degrees, 45 degrees or 30 degrees elbow, be sure to
specify right hand or left hand; otherwise you will end up going the wrong
way.
11. Be sure to specify to your vendor whether you want level, uphill or
downhill pipe. If you use downhill pipe for going uphill, the water will
flow the wrong way.
12. All couplings should have either right hand or left hand thread, but do
not mix the threads - otherwise, as the coupling is being screwed on one
pipe, it is unscrewed from the other.
