Back Issue #29

December 10, 2003   V2N3
Hi! With Christmas coming up, I'd like to see submissions on the topic for all catagories. Following is a great little article...
Parable Of The Pencil

The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside, just before putting him into the box. There are 5 things you need to know, he told the pencil, before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best pencil you can be.

One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in Someone's hand.

Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you'll need it to become a better pencil.

Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make.

Four: The most important part of you will always be what's inside.

And Five: On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the condition, you must continue to write.

The pencil understood and promised to remember, and went into the box with purpose in its heart.

Now replacing the place of the pencil with you; always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best person you can be.

One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in God's hand. And allow other human beings to access you for the many gifts you possess.

Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, by going through various problems, but you'll need it to become a stronger person.

Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make.

Four: The most important part of you will always be what's on the inside.

And Five: On every surface you walk through, you must leave your mark. No matter what the situation, you must continue to do your duties.

By understanding and remembering, let us proceed with our life on this earth having a meaningful purpose in our heart.

KEEP A-GOIN'!
==============
Ef you strike a thorn or rose,
Keep a-goin'!
Ef it hails, or ef it snows,
Keep a-goin'!

'Tain't no use to sit an' whine,
When the fish ain't on yer line;
Bait yer hook an' keep a-tryin'-
Keep a-goin'!

When the weather kills yer crop,
Keep a-goin'!
When you tumble from the top,
Keep a-goin'!

S'pose you're out o' every dime,
Bein' broke ain't any crime;
Tell the world you're feelin' prime
Keep a-goin'!

When it looks like all is up,
Keep a-goin'!
Drain the sweetness from the cup,
Keep a-goin'!

See the wild birds on the wing,
Hear the bells that sweetly ring,
When you feel like singin' sing
Keep a-goin'!

Prayer & Praise
Well, I'd like to share my personal thanks that my computer doesn't have the virus I thought it did. And also to request prayer that this flu bug that seems to be on the rampage comes to a quick end.  --Jamie Scharf

Word Study
             By AprilRose Pilgrim

IN THE BEGINNING God created the heavens and the earth, and the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep, and the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Genesis 1:1-2

IN THE BEGINNING was the word, and the word was with God and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made. John 1:1-3

And, Thou, Lord, IN THE BEGINNING hast laid the foundations of the earth: and the heavens are the works of thy hands. Hebrews 1:10

Have you not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from THE BEGINNING? have ye not understood the foundations of the earth? Isaiah 40:21

That which from THE BEGINNING which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and which our hands have handled, of the Word of God. 1 John 1:1

IN THE BEGINNING:
first, at the start, the point at which something begins, the first part, just created or formed.

God Himself does not propose to judge a man until he is .  So why should you?

To make a long story short, don't tell it.

Some minds are like concrete,  thoroughly mixed up & permanently set.

Peace starts with a smile.

Devil's Beastitudes:

Blessed are those who are too tired, busy or disorganized to meet with fellow Christians on Sundays each week.

Their hearts are not in it.

Blessed are those who enjoy noticing the mannerisms of clergy and choir.

Their hearts are not in it.

Blessed are those Christians who wait to be asked and expect to be thanked.

I can use them.

      Blessed are the touchy.

With a bit of luck they may even stop going to church.

They are my missionaries.

Blessed are those who claim to love God at the same time as hating other people.

They are mine forever.

      Blessed are the trouble makers.

They shall be called my children.

Blessed are those who have no time to pray.

They are easy prey for me.

Blessed are you when you read this and think it is about other people and not about yourself.

I've got you.

Selected Sayings
1. The man or woman who samples the Word of God only occasionally, never acquires much of a taste for it.
2. An optimist nevers worries about tomorrow...and neither does the pessimist, becausehe already knows everything is going to turn out wrong.
3. There is no right way to do a wrong thing.
4. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

"Thanks for the electric guitar you gave me for Christmas," little Chris Cody said to his uncle the first time he saw him after the holidays. "It's the best present I ever got."
"That's great," said his uncle. "Do you know how to play it?"
"Oh, I don't play it," the little fellow said. "My mom gives me a dollar a day not to play it during the day and my dad gives me five dollars a week not to play it at night."
