Happy new year to everybody! Following is a little something to keep in mind throughout this new year...

Memo From God
To: YOU
Date: TODAY
Wrom: SZLKBRNV
Subject: YOURSELF
Reference: LIFE

I am God. Today I will be handling all of your problems. Please remember that I do not need your help.
If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it. Kindly put it in the SFGTD (something for God to do) box. All situations will be resolved, but in My  time, not yours.
Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it by worrying about it. Instead, focus on all the wonderful things that are present in your life now.
Should you have a bad day at work: think of the man who has been out of work for years. If you find yourself stuck in traffic: don't despair. There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.
Should you despair over a relationship gone bad: think of the person who has never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.
Should you grieve the passing of another weekend: think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week, to feed her children.
Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance: think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.
Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror: think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes that she had hair to examine.
Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what life is all about, asking what is My purpose: be thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.
Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities: remember, things could be worse. You could be one of them!

Another Year is Dawning

-Submitted by Leah Cross of Loveland, Colorado-

Words by Frances R. Havergal, Music by Samuel S. Wesley
(Sing to the same tune as 'The Church is One Foundation')

1. Another year is dawning! Dear Father, let it be,
    In working or in waiting, another year with Thee;
Another year of progress, another year of praise,
Another year of proving Thy presence all the days.

2. Another year of mercies, of faithfulness and grace,
    Another year of gladness in the shining of Thy face;
Another year of leaning upon Thy loving breast,
Another year of trusting, of quiet, happy rest.

3. Another year of service, of witness for Thy love,
Another year of training for holier work above.
Another year is dawning, dear Father, let it be
On earth, or else in heaven, another year for Thee.

Prayer & Praise
As far as I know, nothing major is on the docket. Just keep following Jesus and make your decisions based on Him!

Word Study
This is the beginning of a New Year, so this word study is simply a reminder that we, having been redeemed by Christ,  have put off the old, sinful, unforgiven man, and have become a New man in Christ. If we have put off the old man then he is dead and cannot live with the new. For we cannot have old and new together in the same vessel.
God's Grace and Mercy be with you all this coming year!

Putting off the old man:
Romans 6:6                  Ephesians 4:17-24
2 Corinthians 5:17        Colossians 3:9-10

Cannot mix the old with the new:
Matthew 9: 16-17      Luke  5:36-39
Mark 2:21-22

Selected Sayings
1. "I AM Too blessed to be stressed!"

2. The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor.

3. So live your life that you would not be afraid to sell your parrot to the town gossip.

Smiley
One time a man bought a talking parrot. Much to his dismay, the parrot was good at swearing. This would not do, so he scolded the parrot. The parrot swore back at him, and they got into a yelling match. The man was so frusterated he finally put the parrot in the freezer, the parrot still swearing.

Suddenly, it got real quiet in there. The man thought maybe the parrot had frozen, so he rushed over and opened the door. The parrot was all pentinent, saying "I'm sorry for swearing...By the way, what did the chicken do?"
