Anarchy and Fruit Loops

2000

I was sitting there eating my fruit loops on a cold and wintry day when I got to thinking

How could we support a government that seems so far away

They say we've got freedom of speech but we can't swear on TV, then I thought

Maybe this government isn't what they wanted it to be

Freedom of religion, but we get harassed, they know it's true

But it's freedom of speech so what can they do

In Ireland the problems are worse and the punishment more severe

So why would we go around complaining about the problems we have here

Rebellion against England is punishable by death

And Catholic and Protestant are always in trouble, if stealing lives is theft

The best way to stop this vicious cycle that never ends

Live and hunt like before the whites, a race they called the reds

I've got anarchy and fruit loops in my applesauce

My heart and mind go out to the families of the lost

Who died fighting for an un-winnable cause

But it's time we thought about it, and took a pause

A friend of mine went off to the war

I asked him what he was fighting for

He said he was fighting for the land of free and brave

Then another man came along and put him in his grave

How could you love a country so much that's like this

The leaders of it are blinded by greedy bliss

If we all shared all the things that we had

We'd have a government that wasn't all that bad
