BATTLEBOTS
I'm a bit of a Battlebots fanatic. I have designs for almost 15 different fighting robots. On this section of The Realm, I'll explain some of my favorite robots, and others that I think are the most dangerous. I may eventually show off my own designs, and I'll also get a bit in depth about my influences and such. So, on to the bots!
Lightweights
Name: Backlash Builder: Jim Smentowski Team Nightmare Strengths: shreds other robots to bits with his "Wheel of death" Weaknesses: Vertical-spinning blade makes it hard to turn; rear pops up into the air. Easy to get under. |
Name: Dr. Inferno Jr. Builder: Jason Bardis Team Infernolab Strengths: Very low to the ground, hard to get under. Taunting cuteness. Weaknesses: Plastic robot on top… weapons not shielded well, not a lot of weapon power. |
Name: Ziggo Builder: Jonathan Ridder Team Ziggy Strengths: Very hard hitting, self righting device. Weaknesses: None, as long as it's spinning, but it has been known to bend gears, fits perfectly under spike strip. |

My Influences:
Name: Donald Hutson Robot(s): Tazbot, Diesector Why He's An Influence: The awesome torso/body movements of Tazbot and the great jaws of Diesector have shown me that not only can your robot be powerful, it can also have a cool look to it. |
Name: Jim Smentowski Robot(s): Hercules, Hercules II, Backlash, Nightmare Why He's An Influence: With his "Spinning Blade of Death" and the background in electronics he's so proud that he doesn't have, it's awesome to see someone who just likes to put stuff together come to the battlebox just to have fun. |
Name: Mark Setrakian Robot(s): The Master, Snake, Mechadon, Gigan, Gigan II Why He's An Influence: Probably my biggest influence, not only are his robots deadly, they're also really, really cool! This guy is an artist who's not afraid to have his masterpieces mangled. With the lifelike qualities and movements of his robots, it's a shame he doesn't get more recognition. If I could build a robot half as cool as one of his, I'd be deeply honored. |
Name: Thomas Petruccelli Robot(s): Crusher, Bad Attitude Why He's An Influence: Always humble. This guys robots pack a punch and at the same time, he's just in it for the fun of it all. He also strikes me as an average guy, and I like to see average guys getting recognition on tv. |
