Blonde-Haired Girl
9/18/02
Little blonde-haired girl, raised upon the shores
All you’ve ever wanted quickly became yours
Your daddy owns a business selling expensive cars
Providing for his family, enlightened by the stars
You’ve got the perfect body, you surf a perfect pipe
The kind of life most dream of and the magazines all hype
But you still need a shoulder to cry upon at times
I seem to be the chose, though your problems are not mine
Little blonde-haired girl, come from the western coast
You’ve got the perfect man and so you have the right to boast
You blade along the boardwalk and rest under the palms
When summer skies are warm and bright, and the sea’s nothing but calm
But when your skies turn cloudy, that’s when you run to me
Your tears falling just like the rain and rolling like the sea
And I work hard and try my best to be the perfect friend
Though when the clouds move off the coast, you up and leave again.
Little blonde-haired girl from Californ-i-a
I wonder why it is that you have to go away
Sometimes I get to thinking that I am only here
For when you’re feeling down and blue, that’s when you’re always near
But then you run away again, lie tanning in the sun
On the white and glittering sand, off to have your fun
Swimming in the ocean, and hanging with your friends
While I am left in waiting until you feel down again
Little blonde-haired girl, playing some volleyball
I’m glad that I was there for you, that I could help at all
Though tiny as your problems are, if they still hurt the same
Sometimes they can cause quite a scar, temporarily they maim
If inside you’re still hurting, no less important is the pain
Even as some certain people think it’s all a game
But don’t become just like them, thinking yours are the worst
Know pain can come at any time, when ere’ a dream is burst
