Krystle's Song

1999

Let me sing you a song about a girl named Krystle

She was a good friend of mine

Until the day that her dad took her away

Friends like her are hard to find

Krystle was a poor girl

Never wanted much from life

She was such a sweet girl

And thought some day to be my wife

She was both smart and beautiful

And I loved her right well

But why she did some of the things that she did

Lord knows I can't tell

Krystle was a poor girl

Never wanted much from life

She was such a sweet girl

And thought some day to be my wife

She must have been both sad and lonely

Why that is I'll never know

I always wanted to say I loved her

But love's not a thing that I could show

People like her are took for granted

When you don't help them along

Krystle she was so lovely

And so for her I wrote this song

Krystle she went upstairs

And looked through the medicine

Her dad came in as she fell to the floor

And to the hospital to save her skin

And now Krystle, she's sorry for what she did

How could she 'ere be this nieve

Choking down a whole bottle of pills

And now for her sin she must grieve

For she has no respect now

All the people stay away

Just because of this one-time-thing

Of this single horrid day

Krystle was a poor girl

Never wanted much from life

She was such a sweet girl

And thought some day to be my wife
