Loving Your Leaving Me

6/2/03

I tell you it would be a shame for you to just move on

I assure that you will miss me as soon as I am gone

You will never find another man quite the same as me

And years from now you’ll see in pain just what your life could be

But it doesn’t really matter now, at this point we are through

It’s a shame that you neglected all the love I had for you

And when everything was said and done, a wise man needn’t see

That as of now, I’m happy, loving your leaving me

Happy, though, is incorrect, at least within my mind

It took me years to cross your path but to make a better find?

Better should be easy, but accepting will prove tough

But I am very sure right now, of YOU I’ve had enough

A girl of certain moral, one who understands what’s said

A girl that doesn’t tell me she wished that she were dead

A sunny outlook made to match her glowing radiant face

A girl who longs to take me to some far away place

Someone who will let me run my fingers through her hair

Someone not self-centered, always willing to be there

You were none of these things, yet that is my decree

But one thing is for certain, I’m loving your leaving me
