Gathered round the famous town, surround a lighted ball

The countdown starts, the crown joins in, as it begins to fall

The tension mounts, hands are clasped, the fireworks deploy

Sighs of relief escape the lips of every girl and boy

The cheers are heard from far and wide from the moving picture screen

Lovers hug and kiss and cry, and we marvel at the scene

And I drift away, within my mind to where I’m kissing you
