Money’s the solution to all we lack in life
The passport of escape from all our pain and strife

Material solutions are the only things that pay
It’s just common knowledge that it’s just that way

But isn’t it peculiar that when you check it out
It’s the search for love and freedom that we’re all about

It’s a poverty of spirit that tries to make us slaves
It’s deficits of knowledge that leads to early graves

It’s a lack of character that causes us to fail
And no amount of money can free us from that jail

It’s the attachment to our history of a negative past
That blocks our every effort to find a joy that lasts

Our freedom and our value isn’t based on an amount
What measures our real worth is not a bank account

It’s the simple values that clearly point the way
To how to be successful in living out each day

If it’s the respect of others that we truly seek
Isn’t it important that we respect the weak?

In our drive for the pleasures it’s important that it’s seen
That we must be responsible to our fellow human beings
