Impossible,
Well just maybe

Is it so hard for you to believe

That I can do the things I do

Why if you think about it some

You might think I’m like you

But that would be impossible
From everything you’ve seen
To believe that I am brilliant
Is a thought that is obscene?

My intellect is different
An accepted fact it’s true
So how could I have the answers?
When I’m not prepared like you

My accomplishments though many
Are somehow not the same?
For it’s common knowledge
That I cannot play your game

I could not know the secrets
Of my glorious history
For you’ve fought long and hard
To keep the truth a mystery

I could not be a master
Of technology or law
For in your long held philosophy
That would be a fatal flaw

My success must be limited
To ways that entertain
For it is too uncomfortable
When I’m really in the game

My competence is questioned
Whatever I achieve
To think of me as capable
Is so difficult to believe

And when I am superior
In matters based on thought
It is the pure antithesis
Of everything you’ve taught

For none of us is truly equal
Because we are unique
It’s the recognition our differences
That’s the thing we all should seek

For in each and everyone of us
There is a dazzling light
It’s your prejudice and ignorance
That blocks my brilliance from your sight

For it’s all so very simple
And any fool could see
There are bound to be some superior ones
If there’s any equality

One day you’ll see the problem
And then you won’t hold back
You’ll tap the long neglected asset
Of intellect that’s black!
