My March fly is two versions of the black leech patern, which is an easy fly to tie. The first is the Egg Sucking Leech Tail: Black Marabou Body: Black chenille Hackle: Black Egg: Chenille choose any color you would use for yarn flies from white to hot pink The second fly is the Electric Black Leech Tail: Black Marabou and blue flahaboo Body: Black chenille Hackle: Black Ribbing: Blue Flashaboo Both flies are great on when Steelhead are looking for bigger bited in the spring and fall. These flies are also great for fall Salmond. |

Dead drift this fly with either a float and fly rod. Another way with a fly rod is to swing the fly in front of the fish as the above picture. This is a deadly presentation for fall spawning Salmond. | ||||||||||||
