| Simple Engine Mods If you want to "dress up" your engine Chrome is the best way to go. Just make sure you keep it clean, by removing oil and grease and dirt build up off of it as dirty chrome looks really bad If you have a 302, or 351 shortblock there are engine dress up kits availible for it. These include valve covers, air breather and varoius others all chrome plated. Im not too sure if big blocks have dress up kits but valve covers are easily availble. Braded vacuum hoses are popular, but are pointless if your not running a high-pro engine. I find wire covers in various colors works just was well for a fraction of the price If the oil filter is visable, chrome oil filter covers or the filter its self chromed really brings out the engine. but if the filter isnt visable why put one on for? Chrome air breathers add a nice touch. Theses can be found for 1 barrel to 1200CFM 4 barrels. I was able to locate one for my carter 1 barrel at Parts Source. It costed me less than 20 bucks Chrome Water necks are also availible. Be creative. Also painting the block helps. Mask off the things you dont want painted and use a high heat engine enamel and there ya go. Good to go Just be creative. look around and see what you like. Somethimes you just have to think outside the box literally. |
