Larry Stauffer

"Reliquary," a depository for sacred relics, is a fitting description of Larry Stauffer’s work. Larry’s reliquaries are secular shrines that house his glass and neon treasures in modernist and art deco style architectural forms. Within the walls of his "Obelisk" and "Pylon" gleam hundreds of tumbled glass bones, curiously opaque seashells, and other sculpted pieces, all hauntingly illuminated by the soft neon buried within the core. Larry's alluring glass art will be exhibited at Red & Gold Gallery during October 2001, along with "Base Elements," cement sculptures by Gary Donavon-Berg.
