What we're losing
           By Gary Braham   4-13-2000

Everyone knows about how great Colgate hockey's senior class was.  They might have been the best senior class in ten years, and might not get topped for another ten years according to some people.  I took a look at the actual stats to find out just how much they contributed to the team, and who would take their place next season.

Defense
Marostega, Potter are out.  Long and Murphy will return.  Plus some key underclassmen will develope.

Goalies
Shep was a dominating force, even with a lot of average games.  Jason was the top goalie recruit his year, and had a great freshman year.  His sophmore year wasn't too good, with injuries and illnesses taking thier toll.   If he gets the majority of the playing time, he should do great.  Shep has een acknowledged that he thought Jason was a bettter goalie than him when he first came to Colgate

Overall, you can see that we are losing a lot.  But it's not hopeless.  This years underclassmen will develope to fill the void left by this years seniors.  Can they fill it completly?  Probally not.  Next years recruits look good, and some of our underclassmen still have a lot of unfilled potential.  There's no doubt that this years senior class was amazing!
