Outlander, directed by Howard McCain, tells the story of an alien who crash lands on earth at the time of the Vikings, 750-1060 A.D. Apparently the alien predator, Moorwen, accidentally stowed away on the craft.
Thanks to IMDB, it seems that “Though both man and monster are seeking seek revenge for violence committed against them, Kainan leads the alliance to kill the Moorwen by fusing his advanced technology with the Viking's Iron Age weaponry”.
Script credit is given the co-writer Dirk Blackman, for this, his first script.
Howard McCain
This is also McCain’s first script. His previous work includes a 1994 film “No Dessert, Dad, Till You Mow the Lawn”, in addition to TV films. One, “The Unspeakable”, he completed for Roger Corman. Between 1994 and this film, McCain kept busy working in the industry learning his craft and working his way up to director of his first screenplay.
Notably, McCain is directing this movie for the new Weinstein Company.

Character, “Kainin”
Billed as ‘a man—a soldier, really—from a far-off world’, this character’s landing on earth where Vikings live puts him in a mighty strange situation. Especially since the only creature he knows is his arch-enemy, a predator.
