Hello my name is Catherine Mace and I am the Director and Writer for Reflections Theatre Company.
Reflections Theatre Company aim to lool at the sterotypes in today's society. What do we expect others to be like? Are we the way people percieve us to be. Do we wear masks, and what is under those masks.
Reflections Theatre Company aim to find out.
When did the Company start and why?
The Company started in October 1999 The first performance was Old and Loving it performed on 6th December 1999. The company started because I want to be a playwritght and the best way for me to do that was to start my own company that way I had control of the plays and I can also direct them.
For the first production I wanted it to be a comedy something to make people smile. This performance was free to encourge people to see more of our other performances. The performance was Monday 6th December at 12.30pm. At Coventry University Performing Arts or Cupa.
For this performance we wanted to look at old women. There are many views of old women and we wanted to show some of them.
The old women in question were Agnes played by Melissa Leigh and Ethel played by Catherine Mace.
There are many views of old women and we wanted to look at some of them. It was up to the audience to decide if we were right or wrong. What are old women like when know one is there does there back still hurt can they walk without help? What do they talk about together? I wanted to look at these things and make it into a performance for people to think about and laugh about.
