Mission Statement
To provide life strategies to effectively deal with day to day anxiety, depression, anger and other moods and to maximize people’s potential to enjoy a peaceful and successful life.
Everyday problems, such as work stress, relationship troubles and coping with illness, can seriously affect life and the people around you. Addressing your concerns is vital to maintaining health and good relationships and enjoying success in your life.

Family and close relationships can offer comfort, support and fun, but are also sometimes a source of distress, frustration and despair.

Our self talk and the natural phases of highs and lows in attraction, energy and enthusiasm can place stress on personal and other relationships.

At times you may feel that you have little control over your life or your closeness to a situation can make it difficult to see a solution.

Problems may also arise from factors such as work and financial pressures, or goals and expectations being different between partners, parents or others we know or care about.

By developing new life strategies you can bring about changes, that can boost relationship satisfaction and pave the way for new growth for families, individuals or couples.

Advice from a trained psychologist can help mentally healthy people to enrich their life by developing the skills needed to function more effectively in various circumstances.  Often this gives you the edge and insight to avoid making poor decisions which are often driven by current self talk, feelings and circumstances.

In dealing more effectively with difficult and stressful life situations you are able to make better choices, to cope with injury and illness or to meet educational goals or make clearer career choices.

New ways of thinking can create new opportunities in life.   If you think well the chances are you will live well and be better equipped to enjoy success in your life.

WHAT IS SCHEMA
Negative/dysfunctional thinking may be evident by various schema - which are long-standing patterns or themes in thinking and feeling - that form a mental framework or set of assumptions that people hold.
Generally schema’s are not well defined at a conscious level but they effect behaviour as they arise our of deep-rooted past experience and can pose obstacles for achieving goals and having needs met and affect our health and wellbeing.
An example of this kind of thinking would be a person who has dysfunctional thinking in the form of a belief that they are worthless and defective in some way, or that they are vulnerable, and a catastrophe is about to strike.  A psychologist can help by identifying this kind of faulty thinking and initiate life strategies that can challenge this thinking resulting in a sense of control and inner calm.
