PERSONAL Feng Shui
This relates to finding out
the important things in the life of a person with the help of Feng Shui. Different people have
different set of thinking as well as different luck.
This all depends of their heaven
luck, their upbringing as well as on how they appear to others. Therefore it is
necessary to know the method of finding out the kua
number, the character number and the energy number.
With this we can not only
know which influences work on a person, but also know what are
the lucky areas for a person in life and in what type of professions a
person can succeed easily. On knowing the heaven luck influences it becomes
easy to predict and be prepared for the problems one is likely to face in
different areas in life. This can increase the possibility of success in life.
By knowing the influence of
environment, one can get maximum advantage of the good influences possible and
minimize and remain cautious about the bad influences. One can know which things
have helped a person and in what way. It also tells us about the things that
have harmed a person and the way in which the harm is done. This knowledge can

KUA NUMBER
To find out the kua number it is necessary to take the total of all the digits of the birth year. If the total is in two digits, take the total of these digits too! Keep doing this till you get a single digit number.
Then subtract this number from 11. If the remainder is 10, total the digits again to get a single digit number. Then what you get is the kua number of the person.
To know about the person
with this kua number take a
chart with the kua number in the center. This will
tell you about the different aspirations in the life of that person.
For example, if the kua number of a person is 1,
The number 1 will be in the
center. This means, the life of the person will revolve around career. He will
give great importance to career in his life.
For him, no.2 appears in the
area of support. This means, his relations will prosper with support.
No.3 will appear in his
creativity area. So, his association with his family and elders will be quite
innovative.
No.4 appears in knowledge
area. So he may link money with knowledge and is likely to do well in things
like accounts etc.
No. 5 appears in the fame
area. So he may have stable goodwill in life.
No.6 appears in the career area, as a result, he may receive good knowledge to enhance
his career.
No.7 appears in the family
area, so he is likely to give maximum importance to kids in his relationship.
No.8 appears in the health
and family area. This means he acquires knowledge from the elders in the family
or he may acquire health related knowledge.
No. 9 appears in the wealth
area. So he may gain fame due to the wealth he may gather.
This is how we can predict
the general characteristics of a person on the basis of his kua
number.
The standard positions are
the positions in the master lo shu chart with 5 in
the center. We compare the positions of numbers and their aspirations from the
chart with kua number in the center, with the numbers
and aspirations in the master chart.
This gives us the influences
of various things on different aspirations in ones life. On the basis of it we
can predict the characteristics and major influences in the life of a person.
This prediction is general but still it can provide an important guideline to people in general. We can also know about a person on the basis of this in order to deal with him in the best possible way.

CHARACTER NUMBER
To find out the character
number of a person, one has to know the Chinese month of birth of a person.
This can be calculated by just subtracting 1 from the English month of birth.
If the date of birth is before 5th, subtract 2 from it to get the
Chinese month number.
e.g. If a person is born
on 3rd June, his Chinese
month number will be, the English month number i.e. 6 minus 2 (as the birth
date is 3, i.e. before 5th of the month).
That means the Chinese birth
month of this person is 4.
But if the person is born on
13th June, his Chinese birth number will be, the English month
number i.e. 6 minus 1 (as the birth date is after 5th of the month).
That means the Chinese birth
month of this person will be 5.
To have further accuracy in
these calculations, one can certainly refer to the complete Chinese lunar/solar
calendar.
This calendar can be found
in some Chinese shops. Some of them may even have the corresponding English
calendar dates given in them. Such calendars are better to use.
But for regular use this
much accuracy is enough. (See the Chinese calendar of years in the appendix)
According to the kua number we have three groups. Each group has a group
number.
This is calculated by taking
the total of the numbers that appear in the bottom center of the charts of the
three, kua numbers in the group, and then by
re-calculating the digits till we get a one-digit number.
The month number of a person
has to be subtracted from this group number in order to find the character
number.
Now see the group number of
the kua number of that person. For this you have to
refer to the tables of kua numbers.

Now let us see how to get
the character number of a person:
First get the date of birth.
Then find out the kua number.
Then find out the Chinese
month number.
Then find the group number
of kua number.
Subtract the Chinese month
number from kua
group number.
If the group number is
smaller than the month number, you may get a minus number.
Then subtract this minus
number further from 9 to get the character number.
e.g.:
The birth date of a person
is,
The kua
number is, 1+9+7+9=26, 2+6=8, 11-8=3.
The group number of 3 is 6.
The Chinese month number is,
8-1=7.
The character number is,
6-7=-1, 9-1=8.
This means, as per his
upbringing,

This can be the general outline of the influences of the upbringing of the person. In addition to this, it is ideal to consider his heaven luck by seeing his kua chart as well. The comparison can give more accurate picture.
ENERGY NUMBER
To find out the energy
number, we have to just find out the position of the kua
number in the chart of character number. Then find out the number in the
regular chart with 5 in the center, in that position.
The number in the regular
chart with 5 in the center is the energy number of the person.
In the above example, the
character number of the person is 8 while the kua
number is 3.
We therefore have to locate
3 in the table of 8.
Find the number in the regular chart in that position.
This is the energy number. Here, in the table of 8, 3 appears in the place of
1.
So, the energy number of
this person is 1.

nature as well as the influences on a person on the basis of his kua number, character number and energy number.
This whole thing can be
expressed in a simple three number description. We may just say that the person
born on
The three number way of
expressing personality is a very simple and effective method of knowing the
personality and predicting the influences on a person. By following this method
even a common man can make the necessary predictions and get the results to
make his life better.
For knowing the influences
as we have seen above, it is necessary to remember the different aspirations of
different numbers. It is also necessary to remember the basic aspirations of cach directions as indicated by the master lo shu chart. Then we can compare the numbers appearing in
different areas to know the combined results.
Some people also say that
certain combinations of numbers indicate certain things. Generally this chart
is used with the flying stars predictions. But one may refer it even for making
general observations.

With the help of this chart one can know the probable things that may happen to a person in the directions specified. This is true to the flying stars. The observations will only decide how accurate this is for personal predictions. But it is certainly worth observing these things.
GROUPS OF KUA NUMBERS
In addition to this, there
is another method of finding out the luck of a person. This is by determining
his group on the basis of his kua number.
With this method, we get two
groups viz. east and west.
The persons with numbers 1,
3, 4 and 9 fall in the east group.
The persons with numbers 2,
5, 6, 7 & 8 fall in the west group.
To remember this more
easily, we can say that wood, water and fire form the east group. While, earth
and metal form the west group.
Naturally for the east
group, the wood, water and fire directions are lucky, while for the west group
persons, the earth and metal directions are good.
The directions of opposite
group are unlucky for each group.
The lucky directions and the
unlucky directions are given certain Chinese names and certain quality of luck.
This is determined on the basis of research of several hundred years done by
the Chinese.
The kua
number of the persons determines the group numbers.
On the basis of the things
happening for the persons of each group in each direction, we have different
names for the directions for each group persons.
The directions are called,
personal growth, Tien I (health), Nien
yen (relationship), Sheng chi (prosparity),
Hai huo (accident), Wu kuei (mischief), Chueh ming (bad luck), and Kiu sha (worst luck).
The kua
number is the personal growth direction of each person. This is indicated by
the number as it is placed in the main lo shu chart.
The same is the case of other numbers.
When we shall be seeing the
combinations of different numbers and the aspirations, we must see the
corresponding directions as seen in the main lo shu
chart.
Let us see the different
aspirations in relation to the kua numbers. Here I
have given the pairs of numbers for each aspiration.
In the pair, if one is the kua number the other is the number for that aspiration for
the person with that kua number.

The above numbers indicate
the different directions as well as their luck type for each person. E.g. if the
kua number of a person is 8, then his personal growth
direction is 8 i.e. N.E., his health direction is 6 i.e. N.W., his relationship
direction is 7 i.e. W., his prosperity direction is 2 i.e. S.W., these are his
lucky directions. As far as the unlucky directions are concerned, for a no. 8
person, his accident direction is 9 i.e. S., his mischief direction is 1 i.e.
N., his bad luck direction is 4 i.e. S.E., his worst luck direction is 3 i.e.
E.
This means it is advisable
for a no.8 person to have entrance of the house in N.E., kitchen in N.W.,
extension as well as bedroom in W., extension as well as work area, storage of
wealth or office in S.W., cut in S., toilet or cut in N., S.E. or E.
In the same way we can
indicate the suitable directions for all. This method of indications can help a
person to know the actual source of good or bad influences in his life. But
remember only Feng Shui
without efforts cannot bring good luck. To have good luck, one must take
support of Feng Shui but
must also do hard work in the right direction.
To correct the effects of
the directions, one can follow a simple thumb rule. Strengthen the lucky
direction and reduce the intensity of elements in the unlucky direction.
For this one can refer to
the cycles of production, destruction and reduction from the chapter of
elements or from appendix.
By referring this table, one
will know which element is to be used to enhance the lucky element and which to
be used to reduce the unlucky element as is indicated by the direction table
Remember if different people
in the same house have different groups, do not do anything to drastically
strengthen or weaken any element. This may cause some sudden drastic effects
that the residents may not be able to digest.
At such times go slow and
make very small changes, preferably one at a time and that too in little
quantity.
