The Nameless Stranger

"Relena Peacecraft has disappeared.  No one knows where she is, and no one
knows if it was by force or by choice."  Quatre said to Duo.
"What do you mean, disappeared?  I thought she had bodyguards?"  Duo asked
"Heero told me they were drugged."
    "How is he taking it?"
"Pretty badly, for him.  He might think he doesn't love her at all, but he
loves her like a sister, and is extremely worried.  Incidentally, Milliardo is
taking it okay.  I think he knows what happened, but he's not volunteering any
information."
    "He probably did it."
"I don't think so.  Something tells me that Relena ran away, and she doesn't
want to be found."

A girl with short, platinum blond hair stood outside the circus manager's
door.  She was dressed entirely in black, tight clothing.  She looked as if she
had not eaten in a few days.  She sighed, knowing that this was her last chance
to find work.  She knocked.
"Come in!" the manager yelled.  "What do you want?"
"I need a job.  I was wondering if you would hire me," she replied.
"Well, I could always use extra people...What's your name kid?"
    "I don't remember."
    "Amnesia, right?"
    "I guess."
"Well, I'll stick you in Catherine Bloom's trailer.  She's good with people
who have lost their minds...um...memories."
She looked at him, startled, then muttered, "Thank you."

The girl walked towards the trailer the manager had pointed at.  Along the
way some of the circus workers whistled at her, but one icy glare quickly
stopped them. Arriving at Catherine's trailer, she raised her hand to knock on
the door when it opened to reveal a pretty girl.
"Trowa!  Lunch is ready!" the girl yelled.  Then she noticed the blond girl
in front of her.  "May I help  you?" she asked politely.
"The manager sent me to find Catherine Bloom.  He said, and I quote:  I'll
stick you in Catherine Bloom's trailer.  She's good with people who have lost
their minds...um...memories.  Unquote.  Are you Catherine?"
"Yes," Cat replied vaguely while thinking, "I'm gonna kill that guy for
saying that..."  The girl cleared her throat, snapping Catherine out of her
daydream.  "So what's your name?"
The girl scowled.  "I don't have one."
"Oh, I'm sorry.  Trowa there you are!" she exclaimed, noticing the tall
ex-Gundam pilot walking up.  "Lunch is ready."  Turning back to the mystery girl
she said, "I really didn't make enough for three..."
"It's okay.  Do you have stuff to make a sandwich with?"
    "Yes."
    "Then I'll eat that."

Inside the trailer, the girl quickly made a sandwich, then sat down at the
table.  "What are you staring at?"  she angrily asked Trowa.
"I was wondering why you have an attitude," he replied while calmly eating
his lunch.
"Well, how would you feel if you had no memories, spent what life you do
remember wandering, and had no name?"
He smiled to himself, then looked at Catherine.  "How would you say I
acted?"
"Trowa, you had a name by the time I met you."
    "A borrowed one."
"That you still have.  It suits you, so that's all that matters."
"Well, that still doesn't solve my problem," the blond girl said frostily.
"How about the ice queen?"  Trowa said.
"Trowa!  I can't believe you!"  Cat exclaimed.  She continued to herself,
"He says nothing for months and then he insults a perfect stranger..."
"It's alright.  I'm used to it."
Trowa looked at the girl again, then looked at Catherine.  "Since I borrowed
a name, let's loan her one."
Catherine looked confused.  "What do you mean, Trowa?"
"No one has located Relena, right?  Let's call her Lena."
    "Are you sure?"
    "Yes."
'Lena' interrupted.  "What if I don't want to be Lena?"
Trowa sighed.  "Do you have a better idea?"
    "No."
    "Then it's settled."
