Relena Dorlian Peacecraft gazed at the stars from the balcony of her lavishly decorated room, she sighed softly as her mind repeated the wish of an age when the shooting star crossed her view. She smiled sadly as she thought of the countless times she had repeated that wish, and the countless times it had gone unanswered. The wish was one that had been made for generations, always the same but always worded differently by the heart. The wish was something she had hoped for her entire life, someone to love her for who she was not what she was. She was symbol to the people, a symbol to the soldiers; she was just the dove of peace. She wearily rested her chin on her hand as she leaned over the stone railing to survey the party, which was carrying on in the garden.

The pilots were visiting her home for a short time and as any young men were likely to do, they were partying the night away. She had retired early, her mind tossing through the words of her brother earlier that evening before the pilots had arrived. His voice still echoed in his ears, "I'm not who you think I am," he had whispered.

"I know who you are! You are Milliardo Peacecraft! Why didn't you tell me? I am your sister why didn't you tell me." She had replied before crumpling to the floor in a sobbing heap.  Milliardo had left the room without a second glance in her direction. Her words had hurt him, but his betrayal had hurt her even more. Quatre had found her and taken her into his arms whispering soothing words into her ear as he stroked her back.

The sudden sound of bubbling laughter brought her back from her reverie, she sighed as she looked down onto the merry scene, which was playing out bellow her vantage point. Oh how she wished that she could join them in their fun and games but it would be out of character for her, the petulant Princess every one took her to be. A stray tear made a lonely trek down the side of her face before she had a chance to wipe it away. Mentally scolding herself, she turned from the scene to be greeted with the sight of two loving sky blue eyes.

"Miss Relena, why don't you come and join us," he questioned softly, his hand outstretched. Forcefully holding back the cry of joy at his simple act of kindness she pushed past him, but not before his arm snagged itself around her waist.

"Come join us Relena," he said again, this time dropping the formalities as he maneuvered her to stand directly in front of him.

"I can't," she said shaking her head and averting her eyes, her bare toes playing with the dirt on the cold stone floor.

"Why," he said softly one of his hands moving to turn her chin, to allow his eyes to search hers and see her soul.

"You don't understand," she said softly trying to move her chin from his grasp, her attempts failed, as they were half hearted at best. She was relishing the moments spent in close quarters with Quatre, the way his warm breath warmed her icy cheeks.

"Why wouldn't I understand," he said sadly as he pulled her closer to him, his strong arms holding her protectively from the world.

"You just wouldn't," she cried her voice muffled by his chest as he ran his fingers through her silky hair.

"Try me," he whispered as he held her, his cheek resting on the top of her head.

"I'm, I'm not who everyone thinks I am, I'm not only the dove of peace I'm a living breathing person but I'm only a symbol to everyone. No one knows me, and those who believe they know me don't know the real me, I'm not some stuck up snob," she cried vehemently pulling her head away from Quatre's head to look into his eyes, her own blazing the fire of pain and anguish.

"I know your not Relena and that’s why I admire you," he paused carefully going over what to say next, he could admit his heart to her or he could continue to assure her that the people did see that there was a person beneath the facade she displayed. He smiled softly before continuing, knowing she was loved was more important at that moment, "Relena that's why I love you."

"Love me..." she stuttered the rest of her words coming out as incoherent mumbling.

"Yes love you," he whispered quietly while gazing into her eyes, her feelings plain for the world to see, the joy, the pain, the fear, and the intense longing. "Yes I love you," he repeated still cradling her in his arms protectively against his chest.

"Quatre, I-I don't know what to say," she whispered astonished at the simple words and the intense meaning behind the phrase.

"You don't have to say anything, Relena, I can see what you heart wishes to say," he whispered as he closed the gap between to cover her lips with his in soft kiss. Holding Relena tightly as her knees threatened to buckle under her slight weight.

She smiled softly, her wish had been granted, the wish she had wished for so long had finally been granted. She had someone who she loved dearly and he loved her in return.
