Where Are You?
Where are you my pal, where are you my friend?
You remember, you were the one
Who with a smile calmed my pains.
When I was blue
You would mock my blues in a kindly fashion
And bring a smile to my lips.
When I had tears in my eyes,
You would tell me to look at the sun.
The path in the woods so small
Seemed so beautiful to us.
We could be happy, the two of us.
The brook rippled smoothly
And togehter we threw rocks.
Where are you my pal, my friend?
When anger made you mean
Ready for a fight
Gently would I lay my hand on your shoulder.
A smile on your limps you would say
My friend, my small one,
And together we would leave
Holding hands.
Where are you my pal, my friend?
Sitting in the lush grass
You would tell me we would conquer
The world together.
And laughing, I would listen.
I was happy beside you
My pal, my friend.
And taking a flower
You would put it in my hair and say
Here my beauty, you are queen.
Where are you my pal, my friend?
