John Henry

In October, 1955, my mother was walking down south main street on her way to the post office. All of a sudden someone yelled at her from across the street. "Alice, Alice, the Bums did it! They won, they won the Series". There stood Uncle John in the middle of Pine Plains whirling a cane in one hand, hopping on his good foot, and yelling to the whole world.
Uncle John was a "big" man who loved playing cards, the Brooklyn Dodgers and eating onions like they were apples. He was name after his father(John) and grandfather(Henry). Uncle John was a hired farmer and is buried in Gallatin, NY

Aunt Freddy worked for Chase's Store when most women were studing to be teachers. She was named after an uncle Frederick who was killed in a railroad accident in 1900. Aunt Freddy is also buried in Gallatin.
