Chapter Ten
Power of the Emerald Moon
Thea awoke with a sudden jolt that ripped through her body like an electric current, feeling hot and rather light headed the brunette flung the blankets off of herself and sat up upon the mattress, her legs danging over the side. Rubbing her temple she squeaked out a sigh, once again she had awoken abruptly from the nightmare which haunted every inch of her brain. Pulling her knees to her chest and resting her chin upon them she closed her eyes. Was the same every time... well, not the same she thought, actually every one of the nightmares as quite unique, so they couldn’t be labelled as reoccurring. Though the same pain was present in each. Rejection. Rejection from the one she loved the most, for various reasons, and sometimes no justifiable reason at all!
“Enough is enough..” whispered Thea as she stood, “I must tell Glenn how I feel... Now.” Knowing very well that is was quite early, one or two in the morning about, it still did not stop her from rushing out her room to the room next door.

Quietly the dryad opened the door to Glenn’s chamber, then closed it behind herself as she tip toed in.  Absent mindedly she held the pink ribbon in her left hand as she crept now towards the slumbering knight. His body faced her, though he remained expressionless as he slept. Actually, he never smiled nor frowned much Thea had observed, he tended to smile more than frown though, which she for some reason was relieved to know. She hated knowing she was going to abruptly bring him from his tranquil moment of relaxation, he needed sleep so much. Though he would never admit it, in the times previously when she’d questioned him about such he had only given her half truths and excuses. Over protective she noted, though figured it ran in the family as Dario seemed to act the same way.
Now standing inches away from her love she reached out and caressed his cheek as she whispered his name, getting no reaction she tried again.
In response, Glenn awoke by surprise and jumped, not expecting such Thea stumbled backwards frightened by the reaction from the male. In his dragoon training Glenn had acquired a very quick reflexes, and quickly reached out for the girl and pulled her back towards him, causing her to collapse against him and the mattress.
The two stayed in silence for a few minutes, neither moving, though Glenn felt a hint of deja vu, remembering the first time he met the damsel, he had scared her, and she had landed in his arms then as well. The difference this time was she was not shaking, nor tense in his arms.. They were more or less in an embrace. He wondered to himself if she too were experiencing the same.
Thea was the first to move, pushing her face up from the paladin’s chest she looked into his face, and he turned now to gaze back freely. Two cloudy blue orbs gazed back at Thea, and she knew now was the time to let her heart gush it’s true blood, hold it within no longer she could. Though as she went to speak, her words came to a halt before they even began as swordsman crushed his mouth over hers. Startled, Thea merely let the knight do all the work, massaging her lips with his, and finally she did the same in return once she reclaimed possession of her senses.
Pulling away, Glenn looked up at the beauty before him, a smile had crept across his face, and the image was mirrored in the face of the female on top of him. Gasping in satisfaction Thea embraced her love, laying her face into the crook of his neck, her soul smiling as all her fears leaked from her heart and mind. “ I never expected...” she trailed off.
“..That we would feel the same?” Glenn concluded as he laughed and hugged his love tighter, then kissed her hair which smelled of violets and roses from the blooms which had been present earlier. “ I have wanted to tell you such for so long now.”
“What..?” Thea asked as she lifted her head once again to look into his eyes, which now held more warmth and happiness than she’d ever seen before. “But... I could not have imagined such.. I too have felt the same, wanting you from afar, yet terrified of rejection.”
Leaning forward again Glenn claimed Thea’s lips with his once again. She moaned softly in response as she returned the kisses and brushed her hand up along his cheek and then pushed back his hair. Finally she took her spot once again, her head resting against his chest as she yawned.
“It is still early, perhaps we should sleep get some more sleep,” suggested the knight. Thea nodded in response, then attempted to get up, but was pulled back towards his chest. “I do not mean for you to leave, please.. Stay and sleep here, with me,” the dragoon pleaded.
“Of course..” Thea replied happily, then layed back comfortably against his chest as he pulled the quilts over them both.
“We shall tell the others about.. Us.. Tomorrow then?” Glenn questioned as he stroked the dryad’s hair.
“Yes, of course,” she yawed again then closed her eyes.
Soon enough Thea drifted asleep in his arms, smiles branded upon both of their faces. Finally they had found each other, all his prayers had been answered, and he feel asleep soon after, his last words echoing into the air, “ I love you.”

Thea opened her eyes, then smiled remembering where she was, feeling Glenn’s arm wrapped around her slim waist as he gave a yawn, obviously he’d awoken to her movement. “Good morning” she chirped as she smiled down at the body which she now half lay atop of.
“Good morning indeed!” smiled the knight as he pulled Thea down as she giggled and pressed a light kiss to her lips. “The best morning I have ever experienced actually,’ he explained, his cloudy eyes locked upon her green gaze, and he leaned in, kissing her again, except to his surprise the object of his affection deepened the embrace, crushing her mouth against his with passion as she stroked the hair at his nap. Once the pair released each other, Glenn stated, “and it just keeps getting better,” he chuckled.
“I could not have said it better,” the dryad expressed as she rolled over onto her back next to him. “Yet it is still so hard to believe that we can finally be together.. It.. Is as if this is all a dream!” she gushed.
“A dream which has become a reality,” the paladin corrected, “but how could it end any other way, you just kept landing in my arms, and ever since I saw you..”
“Ever since you saw me?” questioned the brunette, “ but the first time you saw me would have been....”
“Yes.. After the brutal attack..”
“Since then!”she blurted, “ oh I am so naive, I never even guessed... my heart was so blind with love that I did not even notice the obvious which was right before my very eyes. Yet.. I have felt the same way towards you, when I met you before our very rooms when we bumped, literally, into each other. This perfection, I am in shock and overflowing with joy!”
“Aye Milady, I believe you are not the only one whom was blinded by love, I too did not notice that you shared the same feelings as I! Oh how ironic, but now the problem is solved for..”
“We are finally united” Thea finished, then burst into laughter.
Glenn cocked his head to look at her with question, “why, what is so hilarious?”
Thea laughed a bit more before she finally calmed enough to answer him, “ have not you noticed?” she smirked, “ we have been finishing each other sentences!”
Glenn too chuckled to himself, “well I do suppose you are right, I had taken no notice, but now that you point it out... Suppose that just means we were meant to find each other, meant to be together.”
