Immortal Echoes
Prologue
Once every 460 years, it was said a creature of magnetic ability and unique ways was chosen by the supreme ruler, Gaia. Nature's child there on, the chosen was granted with the blessing of Elementation.

An element chosen at random of those still barren of host would bind itself with the being. The host was granted agelessness, if not so privileged by race, and would be given the capability to learn and grow with the element. Eventually the being would be able to draw upon and use the power for nature and Gaia's survival.

Gaia long ago, with no hesitation in the least, chose the elves as the most suitable race for Elementation. Already close to nature, the elegant beings would easily adapt to a drastically direct bind to Gaia and it's whole elements. Pure of soul, and in general absent of malice, the elves became Gaia's children. Though, in extraordinary and rare cases, it was said beings of other races were too granted with such a gift.

The process of Elementation however, had a much greater significance than it first appeared. Gaia itself was to sleep; To remain dormant for years, perhaps even centuries. Both in exhaustion and contentment, Gaia would fall into slumber. Leaving it's world in peace, as it felt it could do no more. The survival of nature itself was left for the elements, with the help of the hosts, to watch over. Though what would happen thereafter was seen not even by the naturalistic deity.
