Reno awoke to the sound of a small noise, footsteps coming towards him, sitting up immediately he looked around, trying to make out any movement in the dark room.
"It's just me Reno..." affirmed Vincent as he switched on a light. "Edgy much," he smirked, or so Reno assumed by his facial expression, even though the majority of his face was covered by his crimson cloak.
"You're awfully lively this morning.. " replied Reno and he scratched his head and yawned. "You always wear that attire when you do a job?" he asked.
"Do you always wear that navy suit when you do a job?" questioned Vincent.
"Haha.. smartass too are we?" Reno looked past Valentine to see Tseng emerging from his own room, decked in his Turk uniform, not a wrinkle to be seen.
"Good, you two are already up, now for the rest," stated Tseng as he walked up to the pair.
Vincent and Reno looked at each other then back to Tseng.
"I'll get Karia!" yelled Reno. No way in hell am I'm going to get Rude and Elena and walk in on them again...
"I'll go get the materia," stated Vincent then walked off before anyone could argue. Waking up a couple, right.. I think not.
"Fine fine fine.." moaned Tseng and stalked over to the couples door and Reno went to get Karia.
"Alright, Reno, Rude, Elena and myself will grab our materia. We always use the same combination," explained Tseng as he appointed himself in charge once again, everyone seemed to expect such now, and didn't seem to mind.
Going to the table the former Turks started equipping the glowing gems into their weapons.
"Interesting..." stated Vincent, "you all chose an element, then equipped it with an elemental materia."
Reno grinned, "yea it's a good thing you guys didn't fight us in the Midgar sewers before, Me, Rude and 'Lena all had our combinations. Rude with fire, Elena with ice, and me with lightning. We would've absorbed everything you had."
"And I have earth," piped in Tseng as he equipped the earth and elemental materia into his armlet, then proceeded to add the materia to his weapons, just like the others were.
"Why not use one of the elemental bangles though? Would make things easier wouldn't it?" questioned Vincent.
"It would.." started Elena, "but the mystiles we're using give a better overall defense. We have extra's for you and Karia as well. Extra stock is nice." Vincent nodded in understanding.
"So what exactly are you four using any way, except for the element absorbing combo?" asked Karia with wonder.
"A counter attack, restore, mime and a manipulate," stated Reno, "I don't need to add anything to my weapon, it's already electric."
"Restore and time, both paired with all. I'm the healer, seeing as though I come in after I shut down the system." explained Elena as she set the last materia into her glove.
"Cover, Revive and Ultima paired with Steal as Well," explained Rude, who wore two gloves, each with materia glittering brightly.
"Heal paired with all, and Contain paired with added effect to my weapon" stated Tseng, "since I'm a sniper along with Vincent, the status effects from contain put into the bullets will work pretty well. Any way, you and Vincent can take your pick of what's left for materia."
Karia rose first and started to look through the various shining stones. She quickly made her choice and sat down to equip the gems into her katanas's and armlet. Vincent took a quick look and grabbed what seemed to be a handful of materia, then closed the case with what remained.
"Well what did you two pick?" question Tseng with a smirk, "I'm curious."
"Hades paired with added effect," smirked Karia, "two counter attacks, shield and deathblow. Things should be interesting"
"Barrier linked with quadra magic, enemy skill, destruct, and final attack linked with Phoenix," explained Vincent monotonously. "Materia almost bores me, I'm quite well off with just death penalty," he grinned.
Handing everyone an ear piece Tseng spoke, "alright everyone, this is it, let's get this job done!"
Elena, Rude and Tseng arrived in one car, Reno, Karia and Vincent in another. A little ways afar from the compound the group listened for orders from Tseng.
"I wish they'd hurry up.." stated Karia, obviously impatient.
"They have to make sure things are ready, and Elena has to override the system before we can move in. Don't need to make any careless mistakes.." explained Reno as he leaned back against the drivers seat.
Well.. at least he's talking to me again in sentences.. better than things were. "Still.. I just wanna go and get this job do---"
"Tseng here.." ran through the ear pieces. "We're ready to go, Elena's unlocking the main gate in 5 seconds, be alert, we move as a unit, Vincent and I will position ourselves as snipers once were inside, the rest of you make your way through the base, Elena will make her way in after she takes control of the system and gives us all a boost with haste and restore. Let's move."
"That's our cue!" beamed Reno as he jumped out of the car, quickly followed by Karia and Vincent, meeting with Rude and Tseng by the gate as it started to open.
"Perfect," expressed Karia as she headed forward.
