Chapter Eight
“Try, bleeding is believing, I used to, why bleeding is breathing, you’re hiding underneath the smoke in the room. Try bleeding is believing, I saw you crawling on the floor. Why bleeding is believing, you’re hiding underneath the smoke in the room. Try bleeding is believing, I saw you falling on the floor.” - ‘Smoke’ Natalie Imbruglia

Karia looked up from polishing 'love,' her katana. Over on the sofa sat Rude holding a sleeping Elena who'd drifted off while watching a film, he himself was even starting to nod off. The brunette smiled, things had changed a lot since the Turks had worked for Shinra, such a relationship wouldn't have been 'allowed' per say. In chance of Shinra's 'valuable' Turks becoming soft. Even if they were quite opposite in character, the two complimented each other well. Karia frowned, not that she would know such from personal experience.

'No! I don't want to go in there! Don't make me! You can't do this! It's not fair! HELP ME! SOMEONE HELP ME!!' A young girl barely age 10 was pushed into a cylinder. "Mommy! Help me, where are you? Don't let the evil man hurt me anymore!" As the door to the cylinder was shut, greenish liquid started to fill up around her. "No, I won't be able to breathe, let me out, please!" she cried as she banged upon the glass wall. "Please, I'll do anything! MOMMY!! HELP!!" The screaming stopped as the liquid came over her head, causing her to panic.  Frantically she clawed at the glass walls, then finally went still, eyes closed.

"Karia!"
The brunette jumped almost dropping her katanas and snapped out of her daze, "huh? wha!?"
"You ok...?" questioned Vincent who was looking at her oddly as he stood a few feet away from her.
"Say what? Uh.. sure. I'm always fine. Why do you ask?" Karia replied with a smile, flinging some hair behind her that had fallen on her face.
"You looked like you'd seen a ghost" questioned a still suspicious Vincent with a shrug.
"Just a little tired is all," she forced another smile at the vampiric looking man. "Now don't you worry! And you either Tseng," she winked over Vincent's shoulder.
"Oh you know we can't help it 'Ria," Tseng smiled back.
"Yeah yeah yeah, I swear, you are like the parents and the rest of us are your adopted children Tseng," she chuckled to herself.
"Oh stop Karia, " laughed Tseng. "You're making me feel older than I am. I'm going to make some coffee," he continued as he made his way to the kitchen.
"Hmm.. perhaps he's the tired one and not me," grinned Karia as she set her polished katanas with it's mate. "You know Vinny, you're the last person I expected to meet on this little adventure of mine."
"Likewise really, I didn't think you well... survived.. the ordeal.. per say," Vincent shifted rather uncomfortably, "then again I'm surprised I survived mine. Same creator got a hold of us it would seem."
"He gets a hold of all the Turks Vin, you know that.." Karia mumbled as she hugged herself.
"Yes, but not quite as drastic as us.." Vincent said, then looked over to Karia, "though I can't really tell what was done to you, well, except for your eyes."
"I have to say you probably suffered more Vinny.. crimson eyes, a new forearm and hand.. and.. demons within? So I've heard.. sort of."
"True. Though I must ask, how do you know all of this, about me, the Turks, who Tifa is..? I would've thought you would have shown yourself during the whole meteor and Sephiroth incident.. but you didn't?" questioned Vincent with curious eyes.
"Where I got my information? Let's just a say a little canary sang me song. As for the incident, if I could've been there, I would've been."
"Been where?" questioned Tseng as he walked up with a mug of coffee, looking to each of the individuals before him.
"Aww nothing Tseng, don't worry about it." Karia stood up as a grin made it's way across her face. "Actually, hey Tseng can I borrow one of the cars?"
"Sure.." Tseng replied, though looked very confused, "but why? If you don't mind my asking."
"I'm gonna stay here for awhile I think, so I wanna go back to Costa de Sol and get the rest of my things. It shouldn't take too long. It's what.. 10 pm now? So I could be there by 2am, sleep there for the night, and come back tomorrow. What ya think?"
"Sounds great," replied Vincent before Tseng could get a chance. He wasn't in the mood to deal with any more questions of hers any way, even if he was relieved to see her alive.
"But I recommend you take someone with you.." Tseng added.
"Hmm.. you're right. Say, I haven't talked to Turkey for awhile, actually I haven't seen him all evening. I'll go drag him along. Get him out of your hair for awhile."
"Alright, the keys are on the table over there, take your pick," Tseng said while setting his coffee on the table, then grabbing the gun near his feet which he started to clean. Vincent just looked on as Karia stood grabbing her swords, then the keys.
"Oh, and Vinny, the crimson eyes suit you, " she smiled, then disappeared out the door.
Vincent smirked, then let it fade. "Say.. Tseng. Why did she insist on taking Reno with her any way?" questioned Vincent as he picked up one of his own guns and began to clean it.
Tseng looked up and smirked, "same reason she insisted on watching him from the beginning, I'm sure she knows something we all don't."
Vincent gave a small grunt, seemingly in sarcasm and silence adhered thereafter.
