THE HISTORY OF THE "RENT IS LIFE" WEB PAGE (AND OTHER STORIES)!!!!!!!!!
People seem to often ask us how and why our fair site came about. The truth is, there is no reason but we'll make a pretty good one up anyway.

You see, the basic concept was that a site must be created to worship the musical Rent. That was the original intention (and a fine one at that). We did this, but quickly realised that the population of people on the planet that actually care what a few little bastards from Sydney High School have to say about some obscure and possibly pointless musical is slim to none. This was when it was realised that the Rent Is Life page must be expanded in order to survive in such a harsh climate.

Expand it did, primary with the addition by our editor David of the vast amount of sites devoted to the Performing Arts Unit (or PAU) of New South Wales. I, personally, find the PAU a terrible, terrible wastescape full of pretentious pricks who think they're better than other people simply because they can play an instrument and the rest of us wouldn't know how to play an harmonica. Of course, my 'opinion' wasn't appreciated so the sites went up nonetheless. Evidently, they pulled more people into the site (some liking it, some really hating it, some being so confused that they all got Shell Shock, or as we call it now, PTSD) and so I've learnt to live with them for the benefit of ratings.

And another thing, how come we've completely lost out heritage? Rent that is. Frankly I don't like it. I want more Rent stuff. Actually, that really wouldn't go down well.

Well screw those fat cats, Rent was what this site was all about, and it's gunna stay that way whether they goddamn like it or not!

Ah who am I kidding. This'll never work.

But then again, Rent is still a beautiful piece or text, and I urge you all to buy the CD (I got it for the bargain price of $10 at Fish Records in Bondi Juntion Mall, so let's face it, you can too). CD2 is the only thing that's currently getting me through year 12, just as CD1 got me through year 11. It really is quite hypnotic.

Oh yeah, back to the history of the site thingy.

We should point out that there are several things on this site that relate back to when Patrick and I were in year 8 or 9. Specifically, these are those sections about Yudge and the State Transit Authority (or STA). I urge you to ignore those sections if you're too confused. They really weren't intended to be understood by anyone except ourselves.

Also, while I'm here, I think I'll complain a bit about what's happening on Neighbours at the moment. What's the deal with that semi-relationship that Flick and Tad had? God that was a joke. I mean, they only went out for two weeks then Flick declined Tad's offer of "good lovin'" in the Presidential Suite so they broke up.
WHAT THE...????
Also on Neighbours is the leaving of Lolly. May I say, about bloody time. That kid's such a bad actor she could be a member of that Lilyfield Community Centre Drama Troupe (reeeeeeeeeeeeeeooooooooOOOOOOOWWWWWwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!).

Anyway, I've gone quite a bit off track, so I'll leave now. I hope this has served your queries in some way shape or form. If not, then who really cares. If you honestly thought that you'd ever get a sensical explanation from anyone who writes for this site, then you're stupider than we are.

Yours,

Adrian.

PS Apologies to the Lilyfield Community Centre Drama Troupe. You guys are actually good actors. It was just the first name that popped into my head to do with acting. I've always enjoyed every one of the plays I've seen of yours.
