You have followed me into War; you have helped me bring the sword and the flame to the enemies of the Principality and the Kingdom; you have represented us with honor and with glory. Thank you all for your efforts. You are my gift to Our Heirs. Thank you."

HRM Felix notes that he believes that this is the first one given during the reign, not because we don't have excellent equestrian individuals in the Kingdom, but because They require excellence for all of their orders.

*Mistress Libbet begged a boon that Onora Lovat be elevated to Laurel for (well I couldn't hear anything that happened in this one--if anyone has information please contact me)

*Finn Jarl gave back his symbol of his Oath to the Middle Kingdom for the day (I guess the full story of this was told during feast which I sadly missed...again any more information anyone has I would greatly appreciate)

HRM Felix: "I know that you have business upon this days, that something ways upon you greatly, and I am unwilling to give it. But, for the love that I have for you, I shall ascent in this matter. You may take back your oath of fealty to the Crown. We shall hold these until the hour of vespers this evening when you shall return to us. You shall swear your oath anew...go with love, Your Grace. Go with Our blessing."

*Order of the Rose called forward--Mistress Guienevre gave back the cloak for the Order to the Middle Kingdom

Her Excellency Guinevre: "I would be the last Northshielder to beat the Crown [of the Middle Kingdom]. So, proudly did I wear it I can not express it in words. But, more so than being proud, I was also humbled. Humbled by the love of the people of Northshield and the Middle Kingdom. Humbled by the honor they bestowed upon me and showed me at every moment. And, humbled to represent this grand Kingdom before the Society. It has been my privilege to bear over the summer this cloak representing the lineage of the Rose, that all may know the pride of the Dragon's children. I will display it one last time for you to see, but then I must give it to the keeping of Her Highness to bestow at the next Coronation. It is fitting to turn it over now at this moment as we take a forward step. Let us always look back [with pride]"

*A procession of all of the Territorial Princes and Princes comes forth:

Their Excellencies, Daffyd and Gwyneth, the first territorial Prince and Princess of Northshield ask the following:

D: "Nine years ago, Northshield took its place as the third Principality of the Middle Kingdom."

G: "In the Years since, we have served this Kingdom, proudly and with honor"

D: "Our Principality has grown and learned many things. The time has now come for Northshield to go it's own way."

G: "We ask that you release Northshield from her obligations to the Middle Kingdom, to take her place among the Kingdoms of the Known World."

HRM Felix than asks the Royal Peers of Northshield if this was there desire. They confirmed.

*Barons and Baroness come forward (Caer Anterth Mawr pays their last taxes to the Midrealm) and they are released from fealty to the Middle Kingdom. Their coronets are placed upon The Stone next to the new Kingdom Crowns

HRM Felix: "I said earlier this day that I would never let Northshield go. This is true. We will always hold you in Our hearts. We shall grant this request you make of us..."

*Chivalry are released from fealty and they also place their chains upon The Stone

*Great Officers of the Stellari are released from fealty

*Populace is released from fealty

HRM Felix: "The Populace...we have not head them come to us that they may swear fealty. We thank you for all that you have given. It is truly a humbling thing. This day, we would release you from that oath of fealty. Know that this is not an easy thing. The love that we bear for you...it is a difficult thing to let go of that which you love, but we do it gladly and with happy hearts."

(The new thrones were brought in and the old ones removed but I'm not exactly sure in which order of events this took place)

Siegfried and Bridei come forward into Court. The Seneschal of the SCA, Master Aaron Swiftrunner, reads a mandate from the Board proclaiming that Northshield become it's own Kingdom. Siegfried and Bridei swear Their oaths of office before The Stone and place the Crowns upon their heads. There really are now words to describe this moment--it was beautiful and serene with a magic that permeated everything it touches (okay so I'm not an impartial notetaker).

Court was suspended at this point and resumed in the afternoon in two sections...the first was the reading of the laws, presided over in regency by the Territorial Barons and Baroness' of the Kingdom...the second was a presentation court with gifts for the Kingdom. HRM Siegfried: "There are many great things we could say about you, but we will leave that to another..."

Her Excellency Giulia: commented that when Their Majesties offered her the opportunity to speak for Mairead (who had been her chamberlain), Giulia felt that she should be recognized with this honor not just for the service she had done for her reign, but for the things that she had seen her do for Northshield that make her "truly noble"

His Royal Majesty Siegfried explained to Her Royal Majesty Bridei that as Queen there are certain joys that she should experience...such as the dispersing of Justice, a rewarding experience which requires an exemplary target of opportunity. Upon hearing this Sir Leif began to slink away.

HRM Siegfried: "It's not you. Sit Down!"

Viscountess Astrid (shy, quiet, demure flower of Northshield) "I think it should be"

HRM Siegfried: "It eventually will be but not now."

So, who was the target of said Justice...why Master Fiskr, the Kingdom Seneschal.

HRM Siegfried explained that the creation of a Kingdom is a journey and that Fiskr seems to have found a destination that he wants to step down. And, He requires that Fiskr engage in a debate over the worthiness of his successor. However, he said--if he wins the debate he will have proven his point, but will have proven the successor inadequate. If he loses the debate, his successor will have proven herself adequate, but Fiskr will not have proven why she should be seneschal and he should thus have to remain in his office for 5 more years. His Majesty asked if Fiskr understood the weight of this predicament, to which Fiskr responded, "I'm screwed." As is His right, His Majesty choose a champion for this debate to speak on His behalf...Viscountess Eleshava bas Riva--the successor in question. After four quips, Master Fiskr conceded defeat. His Majesty was shocked by this and asked if Fiskr had anything to say for himself...and he did...he asked that Eleshava be recognized as a Pelican of the Kingdom of Northshield...GOTCHA! Eleshava will be the placed on vigil and recognized at Boar's Head

*The scribes were then thanked. The Signet didn't receive the names for the scrolls until that very week and there were 45 names and they accomplished this seemingly overwhelming task.
