This group (Jock, Mateo, Rodrigo, etc.) performed so wonderfully at Gulf Wars that due to their efforts it was the first time in thirteen years that Trimaris took the rapier battle. Her Majesty had authorized in rapier and so was able to fight with them.

HSH Aubrey thanked the Populace for their patience and of Northshield’s future He commented: "There will be many challenges ahead and the only way to get through these challenges is to come together."

A Messenger—Lord Giles Chadwick Richardson—came forward with a message from Pope Urban who is calling for men to join a Crusade to recover Jerusalem HSH Aubrey steps forward to heed the Pope’s request. HSH Anne wishes to return to the managing of her lands.

Aubrey and Anne release Their champions

Anne handed back returned her coronet. Aubrey had one last piece of business before returning his. Anne, Geoffrey of Warwick, and THL Madeline were entered into the Scroll of Honor for their service to Johann and his family. The family had gotten into an accident when traveling to Castel Rouge. These three stayed with them to make sure that they were okay

Baroness Marwen , Lady Ellen, and Master Geoffrey were entered into the Scroll of Honor. They assisted Mistress Cassandra at an event when an issue took her away. The three then returned after seeing to Cassandra’s needs, to help Anne and Aubrey

Aubrey now gives back his Coronet, and suits up for battle. Makes sure that Anne is safely protected before heading out.

Niklos A&S Entry: "…a joke book. Ladies and Gentlemen, today I become Viscount Niklos, Stand-Up Philosopher.

A man is sitting in a tavern. His best friend comes running in. He says .’Gaius, good news.’

‘What?’

‘You’re a father’

He says, ‘I couldn’t have done it with friends like you.’

A merchant is sitting in his booth, he has a big jar of clover honey in front of him. Guy walks up to him and says "hey is the jar of honey for sale?" He says, "It sure is." Money is exchanged, the guy reaches down for the jar of honey and says "Oh my god there is a mouse at the bottom of this." He says, "Of course, why do you think it’s for sale."

All of these are period jokes. I didn’t write them—I’m just selling them.

A rich wealthy merchant is coming back from Egypt when this storm blows up on the Mediterranean. The ship is rocking up and down and all of a sudden on the ship there is this huge Crack! The merchant jumps up, runs over to the captain, comes back with a really bad look on his face. He calls his slaves aside and he says "Slaves, I’ve got good news and I’ve got bad news. The bad news is the beam is broke, we’re going down and there’s no hope of rescue. Paulo the head slave jumps up and says "Dominum, what’s the good news?" He says, "In my will, I free you all." Thank you, I’m here all week, Tip the servers."

Niklos’ words regarding his consort, Aramanthra: "She is not only the inspiration for me to get up and come out here and do this, she is the inspiration for me to get my butt out of bed in the morning. I love this lady more than anything. I will be her champion today, I will be her champion tomorrow, and I will be her champion forever."

Herald into Court: "…She calls for one to champion her and she reaches back into Your past, my Prince. Gazing back as far as she can see to call one who still stands to fight. And he comes, like a cat across the snows he comes. Siefried von Kulmbach.

Siegfried: "I came to my first SCA practice. The fighters introduced themselves and then the members of the gallery. A young man, upon giving his man to me, thumbed his hand in your direction and said "This’s Birdie." Your face shown like the sun. Your gaze fell upon me and I was instantly calm. And, then you balled up your fist and punched him so hard in the arm, I thought he would crumple in his seat. The strength and grace that I saw in you that day seemed to be the beginning of an endless flow of virtues. You are the most charitable person that I have ever met in my life. You are the most noble spirit I think that I will ever meet. That’s not why I fight for you today. And, I believe that you are truly the most worthy woman in this room to be the first Queen of Northshield, but that is not why I fight for you today. It is for these people. All whose eyes fall upon us. These are my friends for decades who make magic year round in these lands that I hold so dear to my heart. It is for them that I fight for you today. Because they deserve to have you as there first queen."

Adrien: "For the Honor and Beauty of my Lady Wife, Josceline. For 21 years I have been an Armature of these lands and hope for the days when Northshield will have its own Crown. And, on this day I wish to win this as service to my Lady Wife. Thank you."

Svien: "People of Northshield, Hear Me! I am Svein Tunheim, Wyndreth’s [apprentice], Tarrachs’s [squire], Sargent, Sheriff, Ironwatcher. It seems as though only a winter ago, when I watched among you, when we had first come together in a glorious tournament to celebrate our lands becoming the Principality of Northshield. And in the ten winters that followed, I have seen such great and noble qualities come from this great Principality. Ferocity on the battlefield, ever vigilant, ever wise and noble, and with the greatest hospitality and love. And, it was with the love and respect that I have for the great Principality that I stand here before you today. Love and respect that is only matched by that which I hold for lady that stands beside me, Cairstiona MacRorie of Loch Sterness or Jondalara. I have been known in some circles to be called a skald, but I have no keenly honed verses or clever kennings for you today. All I have is my will, my honor, my heart, and a sword that was gifted by me by Gareth the Stoneface Kilt which I know surrender to Cairstiona so that her sweet breath may anoint it so that it may strike my rivals and give us the bold chance to unite Northshield as a grand and glorious kingdom.!"

Your Serene Highnesses, may reign be a prosperous one…Before you stands four and a half decades of devoted service to our Society. Holding such titles as Sargent of the Red Company, Autocrat, Constable, Seneschal, Marshal, Sheriff, Chamberlain, and Mistress. Recipients of the Purple Fret, Dragon’s Heart, Guide Star, Dragon’s Barb, Champions, and holder of the Princess’ Cypher. A member of the Order of the Willow and of the Laurel. Many who know them call them Brother, Friend, Teacher, Seamstress and Archer. But, the Greatest of these names is Servant. Together these two bring to this tourney a unique blend of many years of skillful and loyal service to the Crown. I present to you this day a Welsh born warrior of many talents, the Honorable Lord Kindorn Broadbelt from the Barony of Jaravellir. Lars: "I just want to express how deeply honored I am that I have this opportunity to fight to raise my lady, Mary of Carrigart, to the throne of Northshield. Thank you all."

Riocard: "Today I fight for the Shire of Shattentor. Today I fight for the Shire of Nordgard. Today I fight for the Shire of Coldernhale. But, most importantly I fight for the Kingdom of Northshield. Of course, I fight most importantly I fight for the love my wife, Lynn Lee mac Lughaidh. Thank you very much."

Heralded into Court: "…who studies well the many ways that he and his mate may achieve their goals. Wise is the ruler who learns to do many things so that he and his queen may judge well and rule wisely. Skill is the warrior who comes to battle prepared, and Leiff comes prepared this day for he has many weapons, most fearsome of which is his lady…Astrid of the Yellow Rose"

Leiff: "I fight this day for Astrid. My heart, the holder of my heart, my life’s blood, mother of my children, and the same inspiration, actually a deeper inspiration to me now these days than when I first met her. But, I also fight for another love. I also fight for Northshield, for the people of Northshield. Thank you."

Heralded into Court: "I present you with Sgt Sigrid de la Mare, Esquire of House?, Sgt of the Red Company, Sheriff of Northshield, Baronial Champion, Champion of His Excellency Leif, and proud recipient of the Nordbandr for single-handedly pushing back of the Eastern Army at last Pennsic War. Fighting today for the Honorable Lord Alasdair Callum Montgomery, Dark herald of the Sith, Sheriff of Northshield, Recipeint of the Northern Cross, the Dragon’s Barb and the Dragon’s Heart."

Sigrid: "Just so you all know, I’ve known Alasdair for fourteen years, outside the SCA and inside the SCA. He’s always had a wonderful sense of humor. He’s always been kind and generous and willing to help others. Quick with a joke. He also plays a ruthless game of chess. But, in the SCA he’s been very busy these past eight years. He has been busy in the Arts and Sciences and also with Service. In the Arts and Sciences he’s done working with mail, cooking, he’s done fletching work, brewing and vinting, and many many other things. In service to the Crown, and to the Principality, and to his Barony, he has been Polaris Herald, which has been mentioned. He has been advisor to several of our Highnesses . He’s been Baronial Minister of Arts and Sciences, Baronial Brewing and Vinting Guild Master, Baronial Archery Captain, and he’s also one of the few people who’s willing to be King of Love and Beauty."

Lachlan: "Their Majesties, Our Distinguished Guests as well. I present to you as well. I present to you my lady, my life, my light when all is dark to me, Ceara MacDougal. And, for her today, I take this field against all those who may oppose me. And it will be a good day for all."

HSH Hrodir: "This day, you do not just fight to sit upon the Stellar Thrones. This day you fight to take on a workload that most people can not bare. You fight this day to take on stress, and hurt, and sadness. But, with all that, comes that profound moment that when you assume this throne and when we become a kingdom, everything in this Known World will stop and everyone will know how good it is to be Northshield."

The ancient Midrealm Crowns were given to Ealdormere’s first Crown. Ealdormere now passed those back to Northshield

Many great and beautiful things were said by Our Royal Family and esteemed guests. I was not able to catch them all. I did catch this:

HSH Hrodir: "I’m standing in the middle of legends. And, I see the beginning of legends before me."

Siegfried and Bridei swore fealty and received coronets. The room stood when they entered and remaind standing through the entire ceremony. HRM Guenievre leaned down and told Siefried and Bridei that if They turned around they would see that the whole room was still standing.

Connor Fiddis Wood—Windhaven Baronial Herald—His Excellency Aubrey gave a commission to Windhaven Needleworkers to create banners for Midrealm and Northshield. Several of those banners were given at this Court. The rest will be presented later.

His Majesty Alasdair: I would like to the offer the opportunity to our visiting royalty to have one last opportunity to address the populace each in turn. And, since I’m left handed, [Your] Majesties Ansteorra, please…"

His Majesty Ansteorra: "It’s good to stand. I really wanted to say thank you. We have been out of kingdom a number of times…but never had we had the opportunity, the pleasure, the priviledge to watch a Crown tournament fight in another kingdom. And, I just have to say that it is an exhilirating experience; the differences in the styles; so many two handed swords; the fighting was beautiful; the courtesy and honor that the fighters showed upon the field was astounding to me, and I will take a little bit back with me to Ansteorra to spread that around to say this is how other kingdoms do things. And, we must always look ahead and reach out and grab what special moments that we can from other kingdoms and try to incorporate them into our own…Thank you all very much. I just want to say…I love you all." [Cheers from the Audience—We love you too man] [missed the last part—think he said "I’m finished." Or "I thank you"]

Her Majesty Ansteorra: "Royal Cousins, Good Gentles. Today we have heard much on what it is to be a prince of your realm—to be a king. And that is fitting today at a Crown tourney. Much goes into fighting in this grand tournament. Much goes into coming close to winning, and much comes in to winning. Much discipline. Usually, including many years of painful practice." [from the King of Ansteorra? "oh yes"] "Why is that? Why do we see our fighters go and do that week after week often two and three times a week when to try to achieve that epitome that we see here today? For many, it’s a personal goal that they wish to achieve. But it is beyond that, what pushes our fighters to go past the one, two, three, years of again of painful practice, four, five, six, ten years before they achieve what we see here today. Why is that?" [from audience: "Money"] "No. I can tell you with all certainty that it is not money. It’s inspiration. It’s the inspiration of your friends and your family. It is the inspiration of your consort. Today in our mundane lives, the term consort seems unimportant. It is an odd term. But for we do here today, what we do and what we have done in the past it is a great deal. What it is to be a princess of the realm, what it is to be a queen means a great deal. There is a great job to be the inspiration. Not only are you the inspiration of your fighter, you are the inspiration of your kingdom, of your principality, of your barony. It is indeed, a great responsibility. You are there to bring laughter when cheer is needed. You there are to bring tears when emotion needs to be felt. In Ansteorra, we have a tradition, at our Queen’s Champion Tournament, it is a tournament which honors our Queen. And today, this evening, I would ask that Honorable Lady Eleanor to sing this song so that all hear, all the ladies and you gentlemen too, hear what it is that we revere."

A beautiful golden haired woman comes forth to sing with her harp. The crowd seems transfixed.

His Majesty Ealdormere: "…we have enjoyed the hospitality of these lands and the history and the culture of the Middle Kingdom…it is what birthed Ealdormere. We enjoyed once again witnessing the grace of the Dragon, and as we announced at feast, the Wolves of Ealdormere will fight this Pennsic with the Dragon. We would also like to remember that this day is for rejoicing of the history between Our kingdoms and Our people. And also to give birth to a new nation…"

Her Majesty Ealdormere: "We have been honored to be part of this today and We are honored to stand once more beside the Midrealm and Northshield as sons of the Dragon. Thank you."

Her Majesty Calontir: "The birth of a new kingdom is rare indeed in our Society. As there has been but seventeen, soon to be one more. We are honored to have been able to be here on this glorious day and the reception, the courtesy, and kindness that We have received from everyone here is innumerable. And the courtesy of your Kingdom, your Principality warms Our hearts. We have been much courted many months by the Eastern realm and by the Midrealm to choose who to fight with in the great upcoming war of Pennsic and as we once called Midrealm, Mother, we have choosen to stand with our Parent Kingdom of the Midrealm, with our Sister Kingdom of Ealdormere, with Their Royal Highnesses of Northshield, and with Their Stellar Highnesses of Northshield. We will proudly stand with all of you on the glorious field of Pennsic in the next few months."

His Majesty Calontir: "This is the war banner of Ansteorra. The first time it left the borders of that fair Kingdom, was the day when Their Majesties graced us with the gift of this banner. This banner, as the falcon fly high, shall ever be present in the Great Purple Horde that runs about the fields of Pennsic. But, I would also give the gift, not great but very small, of handmade beads to You, your Royal Highnesses. They are black and gold and they bare the colors of Northshield. But they are dotted with the color of red, for as you are the Royal Highnesses and you bare the colors of black and gold, the red is blood that you will shed for your Kingdom, as you serve and forge this kingdom anew as you become the third son of the Dragon."

HSH Hrodir: "We have one more summer with which to honor this Lineage"

HRM Alasdair: "I think it was a pretty good day."
