Since the Windsor balloon release of 23/04/95 (ce) that launched its independant community based space program, the Association of Autonmous Astronauts has expanded in several directions, both physically and psychicaly. United by a desire to wrestle our extra terrestrial futures from the zombies of commerce, government and the military, a nett-work of non-heirarchical groups have undertaken research into all aspects of space exploration. Areas of AAA research are those not recognised or publisiced by NASA or ESA, i.e. zero gravity sexuality, the innerspace/outerspace duality, future evolution, raves in space and the possible nature of space communities. We recognise that our future lies beyond this planet, that as our solar system eventually dies we must eventully seek new homes. There is a great field of people around the AAA who are ready for space travel but who aren't trying to do it. People project their hopes on the AAA or contact us asking how they can join. It isn't like that: it's about forming a group yourself..... so go and do it!
The Second Annual Report of the AAA was published on April 23rd 1997 on the occasion of the Second anniversary of the Five Year Plan for building a world-wide network of local, community based groups dedicated to building their own space ships The First Association of Autonomous Astronauts Intergalactic Conference took place in Vienna in June 1997. The event, with explanatory ship-building photographs, has been documented for posterity. |
