I am married to my first cousin once removed. Although I am not researching my own geneology, I am conducting research for a forthcoming book on the subject of consanguinity. I would like to hear from anyone who has interesting stories regarding cousin couples in their family tree. Particularly stories of prominent members of society who married cousins. I am also interested in various statistics, such as longevity of the cousin marriages (divorce/success rate), the health of their offspring, and social status. Information regarding laws and religious beliefs in other countries would also be of great benefit.
