Response 2 |
In this response, I will be telling you what's been going on from Chapter 6 - 10; I'll be saying how I felt and what I thought about these chapters, I'll also be comparing myself to one of the characters and will be saying my own experiences. |

In the first few chapters, Jonas, Lily and other children had their ceremonies. Lily got her new bicycle, and Jonas was finally a twelve. Even though having ceremonies like these seem awkward, they're kind of cool. It shows the people care about their age and how they're getting bigger. It's pretty much like a birthday party we would have. |

This time, I will compare myself to Asher. Asher and I are pretty alike! We're not perfect in our language. When they had the ceremony, Asher was pretty nervous... if I was in his stage, I would also be nervous. We're not pretty careful with things, yet, we're caring for people. |

I've had an experience that's pretty close to this situation. Once, I had to receive an award for being a student that focuses on my work and did good, and when I went up, I was pretty nervous. Ame like in this novel. Asher, for example, went up on his 12 year old ceremony and was quite nervous. When I received the award, it was also close to it's own little ceremony. |

So, far, in the book, The Giver, it's gotten a bit better! |
