Yu Shaowen - Beijing Wushu Team |
Yu Shaowen grew up in Beijing, China where he began his training with the Beijing Wushu Team at a very young age. Studying styles such as: Monkey Boxing, Chang Chuan (Long Style Boxing), Sabre, Spear, Cudgel, Sword, Butterfly Knives, 9 Section Whip, Taiji, and Ba Gua. It was as a member of this organization, the Beijing Wushu Team, that Yu Shaowen toured more than 50 countries, garnering universal praise and recognition for his styles and techniques as well as earning the distinction of National Champion many times over. Although he competed in a variety of styles, Yu Shaowen was most famous for his Monkey Cudgel form! A difficult and challenging style which he wowed audiences with as well as earning many awards for. As the name implies, this style emulates the unique characteristics of the monkey. It has to be seen to be believed! |
