This is me practicing my first homepage... It's dedicated to my friends, family and those who have not yet crossed my path... Some of my favorite quotes: "Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it." (Goethe) "If you chase after goals but do it without your heart then you will always be answering to someone else." (Me / Anon) "Dance like no one's watching." (Anon) "Love like you've never been hurt before." (Anon) "Work like you don't need money." (Anon) "Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not, nothing is more common than unsuccessful women with talent. Genius will not, unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not, the world is full of overeducated failures. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent." (Calvin Coolidge) "Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand." (Chinese proverb) |

Some History: I grew up in Chatsworth, California. Yes, I was a true "California / Valley Girl", for sure, omigod, like totally! I was a tomboy until the age of 21. I spent most of my time climbing rocks, riding horses, playing frisbee in the park, and mountain biking. I can't even rememeber the first time I went camping... Between the ages of 13 & 15, I was a rebel (You have to know me more personally for the juicy details here, but let's just say that my parents and I can look back and laugh about it now). By the time I was 21, I had already summited several peaks in Yosemite, skydived, passed the EMT to become a member of the National Ski Patrol, and received a black belt in martial arts. The first time I travelled abroad was to Thailand when I was 20. That experience changed my life forever, and now my life goal revolves around travelling around the world. Since then, I've travelled to the following places: Switzerland, Germany, Spain, France (3 x's), Italy, Japan, Korea, Corsica, Netherlands, Brussels, England, Thailand (2 x's), and Mexico (5 x's). I hope to visit one of these 3 places next: India, Indonesia, Central & South America. I come from an unusual family, in that my parents are still happily married. They are my role models. I have 6 best friends: Sheryl, Craig, Mike, Andy, Fawzia and my cousin Todd. My father always told me that if I die with only a handful of good friends, then I'm a lucky person. So, I guess I'm lucky. Currently: I live in Marina del Rey, California. Two years ago (12/2000) I transitioned from a human resources career into teaching rock climbing and English as a foriegn language. Did that for about six months and have now been involved in several entrepreneurial endeavors. Currently (12/2002) I have a family business where dad and I recruit sales agents for Internet terminals [we managed Internet terminals for about a year before we realized the dough is in the sales and not the management]). I also partnered with an engineer to take his automation for plasma screen TV's and market it to the public [My first deal was with the Bellagio Resort in Las Vegas -- not bad]. And, I recently wrote an educational vision & plan for my best friend Mike's non profit company. He's going to open a computer training center for adults in south Africa. What's next??? Personally speaking, I'm ambitious and not bound to a particular place, career or conception of how life should be. I'm intrigued about the idea of living at some point in the mountains of Colorado, an island in the South Pacific, or any cool place in the world. I like the finer things in life, yet I'm the first person to pick a mud fight with you. I have a Kawasaki Vulcan 500 as a pleasure vehicle. During my free time, I regularly do yoga, rollerblade, hike, climb, hang with friends & family, and go to the movies. On other occassions, I ski, scuba dive, ocean kayak, and sailboard. Sometimes I like to go out dancing. Sometimes I like to cook. I tend to wear my emotions on my sleeve. I'm genuine, honest, playful, considerate, and have a keen mind for debating. A Sample Of My Poetry: "Here and Now" Noticing butterfly passing by. A seagull catches my eye. The wind dancing through the leaves. Being swept up into oblivion, nothingness. Falling into all that is revered. The mind in cleared. I'm a prisoner of the moment. I can't think any farther. Not much really matters. I focus on my breath. Deep and resonating. Letting all the negative energy go. My body is numb and limber, yet full of energy. Lucid is my mind. I'm healthy. So are my friends and family. Living life with sweet intensity. |
