OVERBOARD with Goldie Hawn and real live-in partner, Kirk Russell.  Rent it for pure, simple entertainment and a few laughs..  A great rainy day movie

PRESIDENT'S COLUMN

President's Column

Greetings Everyone!

I hope this Fall finds everyone healthy and safe.

As I pass the baton to Donna as our next chapter
president, I reflect on how much my life has changed
in the past two years since the New Orleans
Conference. Yes. I've taken notes, so that I can
make use of those unusual experiences in upcoming
stories.

I want to thank all of the outgoing board members for
their time and contributions over the past few years
and welcome our new board members! It was nice to see
everyone in New York. I look forward to working with
each of you in the future. See you in Dallas!

Sincerely,

Leslie Lighton-Humphreys

UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN

Review:   If you are looking for a brief change from action, adventure, sci-fi, fantasy, Under the Tuscan Sun is a great character film-- and dare I say, a "Chick Flick" (CF).  I like well written CFs, they basically calm my soul and give me a "time out" from the basic fast pace of my life.  And this film has similar, comfortable elements of one of my favorite CF, Enchanted April.

Right from the beginning the character played by Diane Lane is warm and endearing without being too sappy and the slap of the Inciting Incident arrives adding empathy for the main character.

The theme of "be careful what you wish for...."  is explored with a subtle, pleasant twist.  So get a bucket of popcorn and enjoy the journey with unique costars and a trip through Tuscany with breathtaking views of Italy.
