Little Doggie Lost
Robert H. Gilbert, Jr.
July, 2002
Our children grew up around Yorkies.
Each of the children had their special little dog that they cared for.
Some of the Yorkies grew up to be beautiful dogs, while others did not make it
    through the first night.
Each one still had a place in our hearts.
When the next liter came, the wife fell in love with one of them and decide to keep it.
Now we have 5 little Yorkies in our home.
Our youngest daughter was 12, and she became attached to one special little dog.
She would push it around in a basket.
She would be the only one to bathe it and brush it.
The yorkie had a special place where he would sleep on her bed.
One Saturday morning brought a big change in our lives.

The wife had let the Yorkies outside to play in the back yard while she got ready
to go visit a friend in the hospital.
It was probably 20 minutes later when she went to the back door and called out
    the dog’s names:  come here Tooter, Misty Dawn, Teacup, Mandy, Little Bit;
no dogs came at her call.

They were all getting old, ranging from 12 to 5 years old.
Would you believe she found the garage door raised.
This was the 3rd time the door had been opened.
We found out from a neighbor’s little boy, that his mother was using a cell phone
and he saw the garage door open.
The wife asked him why he had not come over to tell us?
He said. “Your dogs must have been sleeping, they did not come out”.
Of course, at the time they were in the house.
All the Yorkies came back home but 1.
He was last seen playing with children and another dog at the apartments behind our
    house.
The neighbors said that she had missed him by about 5 minutes.
Naturally this was the little doggie that belonged to our daughter.
