MY WISHING WELL |

The Wishing Well
Robert H. Gilbert, Jr. February 25, 2005 I was around the house today, not much of anything to do, so I decided to go to the wishing well, and see what it had to tell me. I dropped a quarter into the well, and these are the things it had to say. Never give up on a dream from God. Keep the promises (vows) you have made. (God is watching and he listened) Never lose faith and trust in your partner. (Let God walk between you). I am a very lucky man. Never remind someone of what happened yesterday. (Forgive and forget) Be the same person inside, no matter what. Give all of yourself, not just a part of you. Love is never ending. Love her, forever and a day. The wishing well told me, if I did these things, you would always be by my side. WOO HOO!!! WOO HOOO!!!! WOO HOO!! Could you imagine what all it would have told me, if I had dropped 4 quarters into the well? A few days later, things were looking up for me, so I once again visited the well. This time, however, I decided to take 4 quarters, (which I had stashed away, as my lady always wanted my quarters), and flipped them one at a time into the well. This is what the well told me again: Your love for each other, is very real and true. People around you, will see and enjoy the emotions that you show to each other. People will ask, “Why do you always wear a smile”? (cause I just got my butt chewed out). When one of you is feeling down, the presence of the other, will lift both of your spirits high. Aggravating each other, will keep your love fresh and new. (just be careful of the frying pan). Always walk beside each other, and you will never get lost. Show each other, the meaning of the word, LOVE. A few minutes went bye, and the wishing well was silent. Knowing, that what it had told me to be true, I reached down to retrieve my quarters, and they started floating downward. Now, I have to buy a new toilet, as I tore the other one out of the floor to get my quarters back. |
