Jade's Story
Jade technically isn't my cat.  AK and I found her while we where camping in Chardon, Ohio.  I just call her my cat because I wanted a cat so bad.  When we found her and decided to take her to my house where I temporarily clamed her.  Now onto her story:

It was the last night of our camping trip and we needed fire wood, so AK and I hopped in her Blazer and drove the short distance to the wooded area of the campgrounds.  When we got out of the truck, we made our way towards the woods when AK told me to look.  She pointed to the picnic tables.

There sniffing the ground was this thin gray and white cat.  She was looking for food.  We were able to get close to her and we held out our hands.  She walked forward, looking for food, sniffing our hands and rubbing against our legs.  I reminded AK of the spare hamburger and sausage we had in the cooler.  She said she'd go and get it.  I kept the cat in the area as AK went back to our tent.  Once she got back we fed the cat and gave it some water.  She meowed.  She wanted more.  AK then pointed out that she was pregnant.

I told AK we couldn't leave her out in the cold with no food and being pregnant, she wouldn't survive.  AK agreed.  So we made a decision to go to Giant Eagle and pick up some things the mother cat would need.  We decided someone must stay with the cat, so I did and AK drove off to the store.

I kept the cat there, at the picnic tables.  I noticed she was scrounging around the floors eating bits of chips and sprinkles.  She then jumped up on the table and rolled over.  She wanted her belly rubbed.  I complied and rubbed her belly.  Her little feet kicked in the air.  I knew I had fallen in love with this cat and I wanted her.  It seemed like forever waiting for Amy to get back.  It was starting to get dark and I had to keep more of an eye on my new friend.

AK finally came back with some food and a carrying case.  We gave her a cat of cat food and watched as she ate it greedily.  She meowed again, she wanted more.  Now we had the task of getting her in the carrying case.  She was thin and weak and went in with ease.  We then hopped in the truck and drove to our campsite without the wood.

We got to the site and kittie proofed the tent.  We made a make shift litter box out of an old box and some sand from the swimming area.  We then let the cat into the tent.  She sniffed around and got used to her surroundings.  We decided we needed a name to her and thought of Jade.  She slept with us that night and in the morning we packed up and got ready to leave.

I got to keep Jade at my house for two days.  We then took her to the Geauga Humane Society where she was put in a foster home to have her kittens.  She had four babies.  They were all adopted.  We made a vist to see Jade in September of 2002.  These pictures are from that visit.  AK recently made a trip the the Humane Society where she found out Jade had been adopted.
