50 caps down the line (hard to believe, isn't it?) Mike Catt is finally winning hearts and minds. Some credit him with being the most vital link in the Wilkinson/Catt/Greenwood axis. He really has had a good season. But, there is no way he will stand up to the competition for test team places on this tour. His speed of thought is still too slow for the international arena and his inclination to pattacake tackling will not worry the Aussies too much.
