STILL ROCK CLIMBING AT
MOUNT ARAPILES

Brady at the campfire after a hard day's climbing. Although his halo seems to have slipped, he deserves the rest!
Sunday at Mount Arapiles was Dads' Day, and I went off and did a fantastic long, committing, exposed climb with Dave and Paul Trehearne and Rob Murrie. The climb took us to the top of the bluffs overlooking the campground (not to mention it took us several hours) and was incredibly rewarding, especially doing it with these guys who have been mates of mine for so long. I lead the first two pitches and Dave took the pointy end for the final pitch. None of us had climbed this route before and we were all smiles (and rather tired) as we topped out and started on the long walk back to camp.

On Monday we all headed for Declaration Crag - some of us rode our bikes there which was good fun - especially the trip back because we found out there was a track through the scrub and we didn't have to go by road. We set up a couple of easier climbs and a couple of harder ones for the kids and all had an enjoyable morning.
